I think for the most part a lot of good was done with the buffs that have been performed. I think from these buffs there are more playable mechs which is a good thing. I think the mechs that don't get played much should get buffed. Things like the King Crab for example, great idea. Buffing the Stalker, why? It was one of the stronger IS mechs before in my opinion. It's the one I usually play when I do plan IS. Great mech. There are other examples of great buffs like the Centurion and poor buffs like the most recent Atlas buff.

If you play FP as much as some of us do, you know which mechs are the best for which maps. Overall, there are more to choose from which is great, but some of them throw the balance off. This isn't an attempt to improve the mechs I play, I don't think the VE needs a buff, which is one of the mechs I play the most.

Can there ever be perfect balance? Probably not. That being said I appreciate the attempt to improve the game I love but some of these buffs aren't in my opinion needed or good for the game.

You seem to have a rather warped perception of the standings of various mechs respective to each other in this game currently, and before the cauldron rebalancing.

Yeah like the Atlas family kinda needed buffs to perform properly in their intended roles

The cauldron has always prioritised underperformers. The Timberwolf, Centurion, Incubus, and Nova Cat went from terrible or mediocre to viable or outright top tier as a result of their changes.

And on the note of IS v Clan long range, for the longest time Clans have ruled the long range with better PPCs, longer base range on their ERLLs, and being able to cram more heatsinks into their mechs due to their construction - HBR-Virago and WHK-Prime have always been killer long range mechs. Hell, just this patch they gave the SNV-1 a ERLL ghost heat quirk, adding another strong contender to the clans' long range lineup. What's changed for IS is that they were given more options to properly contest clans at this range rather than be on the back foot.

What's being claimed in this thread doesn't really line up with reality.

I think u misunderstand an important part. Every mech even the good need to get armor buffed to compensate for increased dmg from weapon changes. Cauldron just applies this on an mech to mech basis (esp so u can buff the armor where it is needed) instead of a global +10%. So every mech, that got less buffs is in return nerfed.

That is the box of pandora if u decide, to buff pretty much everything instead of nerving the 3-4 over performers.

It's an ok mech. Clan Dakka is mediocre at best right now. That mech is to big and slow and usually gets destroyed quickly by IS pin point damage. I'd play something else if I were you.

Literally, what?

Naturally individual performance is what it is but this is just flat out wrong.

I play all of these builds regularly and have no issues with being slow or destroyed quickly.. Posted Image

Yeah no idea how one can claim Clan Dakka is mediocre... I've brought it to most of our CompQ drops, FP drops - performed excellent as it always has.

Definitely this. IS Dakka in general does not come close. I think we have an IS bondsman there in Lifeblight who has not been properly educated in Clan Dakka.

NTG-any UAC20 + 2xUAC10
NTG-D 3xLB10-x + 5xSPL
pretty powerful close range NTG dakka builds, not meta or comp builds but both can deliver serious hurt.

Mmm I'd argue IS Dakka not coming close. The mechs are just slower due to not being XL generally and weapon weight so it takes a bit more work positioning wise or you'll end up in a spot of bother rather fast

When did the Stalker get buffs? Are we talking about just the side torso durability a couple patches ago? That was hardly a big deal.

This is why I say he's got a warped idea of whats going on. He's pointing to gentle buffs to underperforming mechs and acting like there's some kind of agenda.

Well I can't wait to hear the complaints after the Stalker gets its actual quirk pass.

This is ridiculous though, IS mechs aren't stronger than Clan mechs. Sorry OP can't have a blatantly obvious advantage. Use optimal builds, play smart.
