Hello all,
Please avoid discussing +/- of control preferences. ie why M and K is so much better or even the HOTAm option.
I really do not need that discussion and is a waste of your time. In all fairness both have been considered, but I really enjoy the immersion of the HOTAS setup and would like to make it playable.
I have a X56 which works pretty darned good on MW5 and am enjoying it there a great deal.
Currently building a mounted deck for my various controls including platform levels for my Tartarus, keyboard, and mouse. Once completed I will post pics.
BUT what I am asking for:
Is assistance on how to remove the dead-zones on my HOTAS.
Or, how to use the x56 profile instead of the MWO joystick settings.
Bindings being looked for:
Joystick X for turn
Joystick Y for pitch
Joystick Z for Twist
Throttle for Throttle
Items I have previously worked through:
Windows calibration
in game sensitivity adjustments (X sens addresses X and Z for some darn reason)
x56 profile changes... seems to have no effect
I appreciate your time and direction.
Thank you!
Mess
I did read somewhere that, MWO is based off a different input scheme. input 0 vs input 1 or something like that.

Is your joystick compatible with some kind of Logitech joystick software.
My own CH products HOTAS has software that allows calibration and adjustments outside of the window joystick calibration tool. Perhaps the Logitech joystick software can do the same.
I found this on reddit and skimmed it.

It maybe of use to you.

Hey,
Thank you for the reply. Yes I do have software for the x56. Issue is that the profile is ignored in game due to the games controller interface.
Not sure if there is a way to force MWO to use the logitech software or not. I may be way off base here.

Ever since my CH software stopped working after going from Win7 to Win10 I’ve used joy2key, so it might be worth trying out.

Thank you for the replies.
Joy2Key is ok, but does not address the dead zones, or at least not that I have found.
Again, thank you for your time and input!

I would love to know if you were ever able to find a work around. I, too, enjoy the immersion the HOTAS provides but its unplayable with the stick for the time being. I'm running with virpil mongoose t-50cm3 throttle, thrustmaster pendulum rudders and virpil constellation alpha. For me, the throttle and rudders have been great... even after setting the deadzone to zero on both the hotas software and in-game settings I still have that issue where I cannot aim properly because it wants to ignore the centers.

way i have my ch profile set up i just have the profile loaded with the default keyboard commands in order to skip the hassle of in-game button assignment.
in game axis settings are still required. its in settings->controller->controller settings->deadzone. mine is set to 0.03. you can go lower if you have a higher resolution stick. im not sure what axis the deadzone is applied to, perhaps all of them. i should point out i only use the throttle and pedals and still aim with a mouse.
perhaps more can be done in user.cfg, i really dont know.

I have the deadzone setting to 0 and there is still a huge deadzone in the center of my stick. I have a very high resolution stick, too.
I may have to be stuck to pedals and throttle only which is still fun but I wish I could use the stick
