[Snowbluff]

My buddy and I are returning and we've got some event space monies.

We have deathstrikes from before we stopped playing. I was interested in the Maul but heard it's bad. I've a Sleipnir already as well.

Are the Nightstar or MADII ones any good?

Deathstrike is ok.

Grasshopper Mjölner is great, MAD-BH2 is good, Black Widow is good, Ultraviolet is good, IV4 is good, K-9 is good, ...

Enforcer Ghillie can be good too. Stealth armor.
IS Marauder II Alpha is a no go for me. Too big and limited. And slow.

Omnimech heroes are usually not recommended since you can do the same things with a mech that does not cost premium currency.

Heroes that include omnipods that cant be duplicated with the c-bill selection are an exception. For example only the Huntsman hero can carry 6 to 8 missile launcers for the SRM splat loadout, and is thus worth recommending.

I have a sort of silly build for the Ghillie to better leverage the stealth idea, though it does come at the cost of horse power: gauss rifle, LPPC, JJ, and —for thematic kicks— the ghillie bush bolt on. I try not to use the ppc when "stealthing" and use the JJ to access elevated blinds. Not typically huge damage but I have a lot of fun with him.

Nightstar and Marauder II both have a lot of problems. Wait a couple months to see if the Cauldron can fix them with the agility and quirk passes. There's better options right now.

Atlas is great fun right now.

Are not the quirks going to be changed in a month? It would a tough luck to spend cash on a 'Mech to see its quirks go.

I second the Jester. An energy boat Catapult with high arm mounts and dual AMS and jump capability, it has a small profile and works well with triple snub PPC center mounted or 4 LL high mounted.

That's why I've already suggested to MWO via this Forum for a very special Premium Mech Package sale for big dollar packages (>=US$80).

MWO gets a steady stream of income.
Players get to buy mech packages at a very special price, vs uncertainty/speculation of what the mobility quirks would be.

A fair trade to me!

Atlas is great fun right now.

Despite its faults, the Wolf Phoenix is a serviceable MRM boat and for me is the best-performing Nightstar of the bunch, along with the -9P.
