Hi, I don't play anymore due to lack of 4k support.
Its been quite a long time since I last asked.

Is 4k supported yet by any chance ?

Thanks in advance.

They have not yet replaced the entire game engine, no. You’ll want a sequel for that.

Ah so its not a UI support issue. Its a core game engine issue.

Thanks for your help. Time to delete all the links and never come back.

Cheers.

Did you throw out all of your board games just because they aren’t online?

Only problem with 4k is missing Ui scaling. In 2k everything is fine.

That's kind of an unfair thing to do with MWO and your existence here, at least in my opinion. Are you aware that PGI is not allowed to change away from the "CryEngine 3" underlying base code due to CryTek's rather predatory licensing agreement restrictions? You are wrongfully doing PGI a disservice by considering the lack of modular UI resizing as a reason to walk away when they're legally blocked from dealing with part of the core cause. If anything, you could try getting a whole bunch of companies & users together which have all been negatively affected by CryTek's rather predatory licensing agreement restrictions, and either create a petition to file with CryTek to not be so hard-locking with their licensing, or flatly get some lawyers and launch a class-action lawsuit against CryTek for unnecessarily ultimately causing damage against the consumer in this manner because these predatory restrictions created by CryTek can only harm their financial bottom line as a business. :(

On the side of things that you can more easily do, have you tried "1920x1080 Full Window" in your Video Settings with all the Advanced Stuff boosted to the maximum for normal use? That would stretch this game's best possible resolution setting to your entire screen and not leave the UI in an overly small state, which would make it easy for you to still play even now. :o

While I prefer to play on Full HD (or 2K), rather than Ultra HD (4K)...

I still remember the CryTek vs Cloud Imperium Games case...

Hell, that's why I would advocate to move for Amazon Lumberyard / Open 3D Engine, or Unreal Engine 5, but that would require a new iteration of the game, thus sequel.

But if only update of the engine would be possible...
*thinks what options PGI would have in this case*
Nah. Never happen. Not with skeleton crew and CryTek being a bunch of... you know. Posted Image

When I came back to the game a couple days ago, I discovered the lack of UI scaling in the game. It sucks, to be sure, but only for the menus. I stayed in 1080p until I learned the new (to me) menu layouts, and that only took a couple of hours. Now I stay in 2160p unless I need to edit my loadout - or something else that requires a lot of menu navigation - and I just switch to 1080p for that. It takes me maybe 10 seconds to switch, and for as little as I'm changing mechs and loadouts right now - well - it does just fine. With a 2160p monitor, 1080p is perfect, without any scaling artifacts or fuzziness, since it's divided by an integer.

The only thing that doesn't scale to 4k is the garage ui and thats only an issue if you are playing on a smaller monitor. I have no issues with the garage ui on my 58" 4k panel.
