In keeping with the mindset of playing as a lance, as was once stated as the vision of MWO, I'd like to suggest allowing up to 4 people to join together in the academy. In this Co-Op, the challenges would have to only include things that all 2-4 players can do together (Gauntlett, Running Cored, etc.).

The bigger draw would be working together in the battle zone. Would be a good place for experienced players to take novices and help them practice calling/locking targets, taking cover, focusing fire, etc. Players can learn the basics and get back to the action.

From my layman's perspective, this seems easy enough to incorporate. Could be wrong though.

With the current lack of resources, it is highly improbable that the Academy will be modified.

Additionally, I think you can do the working together mentioned here by dropping in a private lobby. So if you got a bunch of buddies you want to work with and a few you can work against, dropping in private lobbies is a chance to practice stuff and move around maps like you do in training grounds without the pressure of a fight - until you WANT a fight, at which point you are fighting others in the lobby on the other side. This is assuming lobbies still work the way I remember them. I've not been in them in seven years, when you had to have premium time still to spool them up on both sides.

In the end, dropping in the live game is the easiest and fasted way.

Wont happen when they would rather you buy/Gamepass MW5 for co-op play.
For training you can use private lobby. Use minimalist firepower to practice shooting each other for longer.

PGI needs people working on the live game, not on the rarely used Academy.

Yeah, a co-op tutorial sounds like fun, but it presents problems.

There is no point in wasting money on tutorial. MWO is a game in the maintenance regime.

Not entirely correct. Even if no major developments are planned, it could still be worthwhile to make an upgrade that keeps incoming players for longer. It's not likely, but there's still a cost-benefits analysis to be done. However, that analysis probably has been done already, which is why no major developments are planned.

PGI has not touched it for years and I do not expect them doing it now.
