I feel like it is a challenge to my tremendous musical arsenal to find appropriate music for CC other than some classical Chinese stuff but I admit, it is proving harder than expected, though did find some good Davion sounding stuff, I am trying to look for something more along the lines of a solid and strong feel with impending undertones as that is kind of how CC is and just about always has been,

Davion music is easy to find

Unfortunatly music is rarely described in the novels and source books for "our" 31st century, though I think its still nearly the same mix of styles that we have today.

But to capture the despair felt by the capelleans after the 4th Succession Wars one could listen to chinese black metal band Be Persecuted.

This is a good thing, I believe. We have the privilege of filling these details in. :P

My daughter is heavily into K-Pop (Korean Pop) and she is always asking me to watch her videos with her. I really like this one so i thought I'd share it here. Might be good for the younger generation you know? Its got a great beat.
The song is called WARRIOR.

This is a piece of music that perfectly fits for someone that came to the Confederation to trade for instance and was here for the first time in his life. Asian, mysterious and lethal. ;)

Didn't realize Chinese and Celtic instruments and chord progressions were so similar until checking out this forum. Check out the search "Chinese Celtic music" on YouTube... There really is some out there, and note the similarities!

For more traditional Chinese music featuring the erhu 二胡, check out a guy named Lei Qiang, one of my faves!

Finally, my personal favorite epic, House Liao worthy songs come from composer Tan Dun of the movie Hero (英雄). Certainly In the right ballpark...

Yes, Shogun is about Japan, but these two cultures seem identical to us, foreigners, so it can really be Liao music. Posted Image
Ignoring the difference only continues to spur more ignorance.

I liked what MechCommander 2 did with its Liao theme. For more music, might I suggest something like this:

If you like this, check out the whole soundtrack as well. If you want more traditional sounding music, try Ip Man's soundtrack:

Consider watching the movie too if you're at all interested in foreign movies and/or cultures. It and its sequel is available on Netflix.

IP Man 1 and 2 are excellent and if you like Donnie Yen then you should check out Flashpoint as it has probably one of the best fighting scenes in a film EVER!
