This is basically a hitscan arena shooter with a battletech theme and I'm totally cool with that.

Yeah, sorry, I'm not a "cauldron buddy", but I have to pile on to this one. The game isn't the mech nirvana that you want, but it is up and running, so this point is demonstrably false.

And to the bit about calling Cauldron members "wet behind the ears" because they "only" play MWO (and presumably not living legends or somesuch)... so the fark what? MWO has been running for nearly 10 years now. If they ONLY have experience in a game that has been running for 10 years and are ONLY making suggestions for the content of said game... that hardly counts as "wet behind the ears". So that too is demonstrably false.

Its not a conspiracy if 90 percent of people disagree with someone, its just a sign that their opinion is a distinct minority.

Nah BloodRedSin, you talk out of your ***. Do you know how all my Assaults, bar my MAD-IIC deal with the Light plague? They shoot them. The MAD-IIC sneaks up behind them them shoots them. And sometimes, when they dont get the hint or im just feeling like being a true *******, I take my assaults and I give chase. Not far enough to be out of support, but enough to make the Light regret his decision to ever alert me to his existence. Piranhas too. And amazingly, they die. Or are so badly damaged they dont ever want to come back, or are easy prey for my escorts.
Piece of advice from someone who went from tier 3 to tier 4 just trying to make Light mechs work, Lights are weak and flimsy. Just mount some dedicated Light killing weapons and shoot the little gits when they get in close. Dont believe me, drop in Light and record it, then post here. I bet you dont hit 100 damage.

Also as a side note, I saw someone reference Battledroids and Assault scarcity earlier. Technically that is correct, but only for the 3rd-4th Succession War era. By the war of 3039 Mech production is beginning to ramp up again, and by the current era for the game, 3065ish or the FedCom Civil War, Assaults are commonplace. That said, the typical MWO team drop tends to be pretty much an Assault Company, (5-7 Assaults plus escorts) and those are still pretty uncommon as they are both expensive and lack mobility. Typically they are used for breaking the enemies lines and are then withdrawn whilst the cavalry companies flood through to exploit. Most companies have no more than 2-3 Assaults in this period.

Technically its not dead, correct, i mean people still log in. But in spirit it was dead long ago. Destined to fail. There was never going to be any hope of this turning into anything but what it is. Lots of people gone now too. Hard not to notice.

As to your second point, they do not have the experience or the objective fairness or the honest reputation to be juggling numbers at their own discretion and force feeding it to the rest of us. They have nothing to compare anything to. They don't know anything. They are winging it. MWO, which was wrong from the get go can not be the only block in your foundation. It is actually the weakest block. They have made fundamentally incorrect and biased changes already, confirming what i have said. I guess you don't understand, but in most facets of life you kinda need to have been around the block a few times, experienced a few things, learned something, somewhere, before you have any credibility.

They are not making suggestions ScrapIron.... they are patching in actual changes that they and they alone decide for months now. There is no suggestion, its just getting done and that's it.

I agree actually BloodredSin. The Cauldrons changes have promoted a sniper dominated meta and a great increase in the power of Heavy and Assault chassis to obliterate targets at long range. This is throttling the game and killing it, moreso than any Locust hitting someone in the rear.

In the early story driven campaign you'll get a mission against a spider, in your centurion..

I dont think i've fought a light in while. I generally leave my teams lights to do whatever it is they are doing and hoping they hunt down the enemy lights....i generally drive my thunderbolt or my corsair neither of which capable of fighting lights with much decency. I think the most i'll do is throw a warning shot at a light and gift it the red dorito so my team knows they are there...but from what i remember lights are terrible most times, very high risk high reward.

They arent ruining the game, they are ruining your game. Should maybe reassess how you approach lights and change tactics.
