The buffs to the uac5 were entirely unnecessary. They were potent and got used on many builds - unlike AC5 or the LB5X which got really rare. The AC5 got better, but the UAC5 even more so. I expect some future roll-back on the buffs to the uac5.

Sorry, UACs are not dps weapons because they jam - unexpectedly and for a long time. They are a burst weapon because when you step out from beyond cover you always start with them unjammed - so the initial double tap is guaranteed. The dps always starts very high (burst) and then degrades, even when boating UAC2.

then they should be able to stand alone without absurd dps numbers.

So far I see no AC/5 or UAC/5 apocalypse...all I still see is laz0rz!1!

which is sad because i wanted an ac5/uac5 apocalypse. it did make my ac5 panther viable though.

i still think jam mechanics are an ill fit for the stated use case for the uac5. the laziness of the mechanic has bugged me from the get go. i remember doing a quake c tutorial which added 3 lines of code and did the same thing to the shotgun more or less. id have chosen a mechanic that rewards firing in short bursts more than spamming or boating to average out the jams across multiple guns.

of course that is no one's fault but pgi. the cauldron's policy of doing what they can with what they have is there for a reason. new jam mechanics are out of the question, like ramping jam chance. perhaps something can be done with the rac jam bar. still there is at least one cauldron member advocating for jamless uacs. so there are a few options on the table. the choice to keep with pgi's solution is probibly for the best. id test my ideas myself if i could figure out how to take the client offline for xml testing.

I just had a few brilliant games in a triple UAC/5 Jaeger DD. The thing is evil now.

I was insane enough to put 4 UAC/5 on a DD. It is actually too hot (so be sure you can always easily pull back) and low on ammo...but heck, it is so fun too see assaults panicking when they realize there is a hail of 5er shells and not 2s
