My mech is on it's back, alive and able to fire.

This is the last time I use grain alcohol to fuel the fusion reactor.

Hey don't underestimate what you can do lying on your back. Just ask the Ghost of Nicolas Kerensky what a supine mech can do to you...

Any further damage will result in proper death.

AFAIK its caused by being desynchronised from the servers. Happens a lot more to people who have bad internet connections or bad routers causing packet loss.

Nope, just laid there on it's back firing in to the air.
Just like Uncle Jethro when he got the still working.

Not entirely true. Otherwise we would still have that Bug associated with one of the Spider Chassis Variants which would cause people to get knocked out of the game. And don't forget the Bug with the Blood Asp BAS-E Variant's Legs which is getting fixed in just a few hours from when I am posting this!

C'mon, now. We all know there's a vocal segment of the player base that has never forgiven PGI for making a game they wanted.

as a programmer i do not consider malformed data a bug. if one of your game files is corrupt it can and will break things. it was likely bad xml that caused these issues.
i once use a modified obj format for my game engine. the idea was i could save a model right out of the moddeling program, open it in notepad++ and add the custom bits. however i neglected some features of the original model format. so when i upgraded the modeling software, the files saved using those features. and it broke everything. fixing the problem required no code changes (though i did eventually add a warning to the log if it detected a malformed model, aborted the load, and crashed gracefully), i just needed to tweak the export settings in the modelling software.

im critical of the removal of the programming staff before the game was ready to not have a programming staff. this has led to a lot of stagnation and poorly implemented features.

I might remind you that the programming staff is why we don't have selectable ammo types.

yea, pgi let them go way too early in its development. lack of said programming staff likely also led to the bad implementations of fp and solaris. which they accomplished with the efficacy of a mod team trying to turn an fps into an rts or vise versa. ammo types would have been nice.
