Greetings MechWarriors!

Welcome to the MWO 2022 Roadmap!

This roadmap is a work-in-progress, will be subject to change, and may not contain everything we are currently working on! When something becomes confirmed, it will be added to the roadmap.

We currently have 2 types of resources available to us at Piranha Games. The MWO Core Team and The MWO Flex Team. Currently, we will only be able to provide details on what the MWO Core Team is working on. Over the course of the year, we will have the opportunity to have additional resources working on MWO, but the timing of those resources is largely dependent on the demands of other projects within the studio. We call those resources the MWO Flex Team. When Developers are available, we assess the project goals and create a plan to suit those resources.

(As I write this on Feb 25th we have resources available and work is in progress to utilize these resources. However, the deliverables are not listed on the road map until we can confirm the project completion.)

This is why the roadmap is going to have to remain flexible this year. With that said we still have a dedicated Core MWO team that is hard at work to deliver patches with new content and experiences this year. This includes New Quick Play Maps, continued Map Updates, New 'Mech Variants, More Free 'Mechs, 'Mech and Weapon Balance Changes, and finally Events and Sales.

March 1st UPDATE!

We have added some information to the roadmap

We also added a 2020-21 Development retrospective map for comparison.

Thanks to everyone for the feedback and your passion. The MWO team is working hard on the game and we hope to deliver an exciting year for you.

We intend to keep this roadmap updated!

Once again we thank you for playing MWO!

So 4 maps and 1 map rework set for the entire year.

Better than nothing I guess.

Only question I have is why it took two whole months to come up with this no-content document?

It's not April 1st. Show us the "REAL" roadmap PGI...

I mean it probably has less actually on it, because we all know they're ambitious. But just like CW, they'll never deliver half of their promises.

I understand the "core" and "flex" teams stuff. But honestly, what's the point of providing a roadmap where you only show that you'll continue doing what you have been doing last year, which is basically maintenance?

Quote: New `Mech Variants

Well, at least, there's something edible in all this mess.

I would love the following variants for the Huntsman: E and H.

And maybe a few good ones missing from the other favorites of mine. Like say the Cougar A and B would be nice.

Ah, see, people thought that the roadmap was going to tell us about the things you are now telling us it won't tell us about because they aren't confirmed yet. Talking about the roadmap implied that we might have some idea of what might be in the works. I guess this confirms that we will be continuing with the event and map schedule we're used to, but the only real new information here is that we're getting more QP maps from FP biomes. This is good, but it could have just been news on its own.

You could have just said "We'll be continuing with events, free mechs and boosters" and made a big announcement about the confirmation of new maps. But instead, you made it sound like we were going to hear some actual announcements on new developments. But instead the announcement is essentially that there is no announcement, but we had to look through a spreadsheet to find that out Posted Image

I am glad for the confirmation that the Core team will keep doing what they are doing. That's all good stuff. But cmon guys. You can just say that things aren't confirmed yet Posted Image

EDIT: Yall were too sneaky for your own good Posted Image Well played though.

Have to admit I was hoping for something more than the status quo. I hope the Dev Vlog in early March reveals something more exciting.

Soooo....
If I read this correctly, no new mech packs or cauldron quirks are planned for the rest of the year, and FEB patch notes are the last ones ever.

Instead of wasting time and resources on the lighting in the old Forest map you should have just gotten rid of it entirely. It's terrible.

1. Wow, 4 new maps in 2022!
It sounds aggressive, but if you shoot for the sky and miss, you'll land on the moon! Posted Image

2. Mech Pre-orders.
Should be a mix of Hero mechs + Special Variant mechs.

2a) New Hero mech packs: GOOD NEW Hero mechs would become a continuous cash income stream.
~At least 25% of mech pack sales campaign per year, justlike Rivals Pack with 2x NEW Hero mechs.
eg: Hero Dire Wolf DWF-Z with ECM in CT, but with no JumpJets
eg: Hero Atlas AS7-Z with 2x ballistic hardpoints in each LT + RT (similar to the Cyclops, Mauler, Annihilator)
eg: Hero Blood Asp with ballistic Right Arm (finally!)
eg: Anyone else willing to add to this list, especially for Heavy/Medium/Light mechs?
~I do emphasise new good Hero mechs.
~Good torso parts to be locked up in Hero mechs. eg: 2x ballistic arms in Dire Wolf DWF-UV Hero mech.

2b ) Special Variant mechs
~Just like the current Stryker/Warden/Hunter/Predator/Bloodname Booster Packs.
~Maximum 75% of mech pack sales campaign per year.
***The point is, Special Variant mechs become CBills mechs for Free-To-Play players, so that they would not feel miss out.

3) Annual (Loyalty) Rewards Programme 2022
***We need MWO assurance that:
3a) Similar format to that of 2019 & 2020 Annual (Loyalty) Rewards Programme:
http://mwomercs.com/...rewards-program
http://mwomercs.com/...rewards-program

3b ) ie: Previous Loyalty mechs would all be available to choose from again (eg: UM-R80(L), LBK-H(L), HBR-F(L), etc. etc. and there are many of them)

3c) We also need MWO assurance that Ultimate Pack (also 2x Collectors Pack = 1x Ultimate Pack) would also count towards 2022 Annual (Loyalty) Rewards Programme. This would assure Ultimate & Collectors Pack cash sales for MWO.

4) Please bring back Special Variants for USD Cash, from previous promotions that are currently unavailable!
Steam Performance Packs, MW5 Pre-Order mechs, etc.
