Is there a way to setup the throttle and turn on a mini joystick like a gamepad while still being able to do full turn at full speed?

It seems that with the simple in-game config I can't quite get max turn speed at full throttle.

try analog turn and analog throttle in controller settings

That's precisely my point, using those you can't really do full speed turn.

deactivate throttle decay, maybe.

yea throttle decay isnt required.

i use throttle and pedals with a mouse. mwo doesnt have very good joystick support (still miles ahead of mw5, you can actually map things in the ui without editing config files), seems to give you a single deadzone and sensitivity setting for everything. i like a narrow deadzone on the pedals and a slightly larger deadzone on the throttle. it also clips ends of my throttle to rounding errors so i lose a bit of speed. i just have a macro that holds w when my throttle is maxed and i have done some things to my curves to compensate for the lack of control in the ui. nasty work around are somewhat inferior to good joystick code but it is what it is. joystick code sucks since ms tried to force x-input and the even ******** rawinput on everyone.

high speed turning just involves coordinating torso and leg rotation. it works fine unless you have to legshield or something.

Alright, thanks guys. The only solution I can think of is to try remap your axis using Joystick Gremlin or other similar solutions.

Actually I'd rather use FreePIE or UCR since they use C# apparently:

i just use the proprietary ch software that comes with my joysticks. its kind of long in the tooth, but it still works. it locks you into using ch controllers only and does not let you use 3rd party sticks. in game i set up the least lossy most linear axis settings possible, and do my fine tweaking in the software. i also map all the functions directly to the default keystrokes so i only have to worry about mapping the axes in game.

ive used freepie before, its ok if you know python (i dont like python, i was always more of a lua guy). but its good if you have some obscure controllers (it supports a lot of stuff). ucr looks a lot more user friendly, but is not as versitile. under the hood all these softwares work the same way, posting outputs throught the vjoy virtual driver. you could probibly map things in c if you were so inclined, grab control data via sdl and push it back through vjoy.

I could get it to work nicely with UCR. I'm using the right hand controller from Razer Junglecat and mouse with left hand.
I mapped the Razer Junglecat mini stick axis to the default keyboard throttle and turn controls. Now I can do full speed turns exactly like if I was using the keyboard with the added advantage that I don't need to twist my wrist in the process.

The ergonomics of the Razer Junglecat is not as good as the Oculus Touch Controller I was using lately but it has actually more usable buttons. The setup is also a lot easier now once the UCR configuration is done.

I'm hoping I'll one day get around enabling UCR to use GearVR Controller but for the time being I guess I'll stick to Razer Junglecat, well, half of it.
