Does MWO have a maximum amount of mouse buttons it can see? I just got a new mouse after 10 years, a Steelseries Rival 5, and I can't get MWO to see any 'mouse button' above 5. The button input is still accepted if I do something like rebind mouse button 9 as F7 in the steelseries program. I am just wondering if there is a way to get MWO to see all 9 mouse buttons without having to do that.

The game client does not natively support more than 5 mousebuttons.

5 mouse buttons are the presets mouse buttons, Mouse1 through Mouse5. Extra mouse buttons other than the first 5 buttons would be programmed as macros tied to keyboard strokes, such as to fire weapon group 5 and 6, set two of the extra mouse buttons setup to initiate 5 and 6 top key respectively (not 5 nor 6 keypad). I would suggest saving it as a profile as MWO while having a base default setting for normal computer uses or other games.

Yeah, as Tarl noted, there's plenty ways around it. Just assign keyboard strokes to the mouse buttons beyond the fifth.

Will Steel series let you rebind the mouse button to gamepad/joystick buttons? That would be a good workaround so you dont have to use buttons on your keyboard.
