Ok, so I remember a time when the Clan ERPPC was the most feared weapon in the game, and I've come to notice a distinct problem with it's current iteration in comparison to it's IS counterpart.

C-ERPPC:
DMG: 10
Heat: 14.5
CD: 5 sec
Health: 7.5

IS-ERPPC
DMG: 10
Heat: 12
CD: 4 sec
Health: 12.5

All other stats between the two are identical.

Call me crazy, but honestly, this makes the clan version laughable in comparison to the IS. At least have it's damage bumped up to 12-13, or it's CD reduced to 2-3 sec + Heat redux.

you left off the +5 splash damage and the -1 slot and -1 ton.

yeah this is a pretty key omission. -1 slot/ton plus the ability of clan mechs to boat DHS makes them much more even

Yeah when you factor in the splash and ton/slot difference, the cERPPC is way ahead except for the velocity, which only matters at longer ranges. The cERPPC can be used at long range, and it can also be used effectively in mid or even short range loadouts where you want a projectile weapon. In those roles, IS uses LPPCs which are good if you've got the hardpoints and slots, or they use regular PPCs which have min range issues and are pretty meh for their damage to heat ratio.

So yeah its fine overall.

That was years ago.

Stats of some Clan weapons have been adjusted to allow for better and more balanced gameplay.

Projectile speed: 1900 m/s

All other stats between the two are identical.

Other stats are not identical. See above.

I would like to mention that Clan ER PPC does 15 points of damage - 10 points to the targeted section, 2.5 points of the splash damage to the adjacent section to the left and 2.5 points of the splash damage to the adjacent section to the right.

Clan ER PPC is in many respects superior thanks its higher damage output, lower weight and more compact dimensions. And since Clan DHS are also smaller, it is easier for Clan 'Mechs to cool their ER PPCs.

The health looks odd. 7.5 vs 12.5. Shouldn't it be 8.5 vs 12.5.

I think that this is for balance purposes. Clan 'Mechs pack greater firepower thanks their lighter and smaller weapons, but it is easier for IS 'Mechs to destroy those less robust Clan weapons.

Yup. Some of them are maybe a bit too weak though. Cauldron has been talking about buffing weapon health, especially of big weapons that take tons of slots. Don't know if they'll actually do it though.

as a jack of all trades weapon, i think it is ok if the cerppc is master of none.

One weapon (or a 'Mech) being superior to everything else would be bad for gameplay.

My only problem with is ppcs is the heat to damage ratio. That and the cptl-k2 is a joke. +10 gun velocity? I'd rather have -30 or -40 ppc heat so it can be a decent ppc sniper as it was ment to be. Or steal the pnt-kk's 40% velocity buff so it can hit fast moving targets at 600m.

K2 is a very good 4ERPPC sniper. -15% total heat for ERPPCs, +20% velocity, +10% range with high mounts.

CPLT-K2 is an excellent mech in general and has many good loadouts. They are mostly AC+PPC mix, so its not quite true to its lore loadout of PPCs+MGs.

The latest 'Mech pack gives the -K2 platinum skin and 30% C-Bill bonus.

Yup! Which is the main reason its worth buying. The other stuff is so-so until the cauldron revisits those variants.

Many thanks for your Catapult CPLT-K2(P) referral!
ERPPC so high up is very interesting ;)

I'm actually extremely happy about the IS Platinum Collection 01:
https://mwomercs.com...inum-collection

Hunchback HBK-4P(P) ==> always wanted +30% CBills bonus from the Steam Performance Mech Pack
Atlas AS7-D-DC(P) ==> always wanted +30% CBills bonus for this mech
Catapult CPLT-K2(P) ==> ERPPC so high up is very intriguing!

(Actually I did not have Camo for most of these mechs, so the Platinum camo unlocked for all variants comes in very handy for me!)

Thanks for info folks, honestly didn't know about the splash damage and whatnot, should have researched more on the matter.

That's okay, descriptions of some items in the Mechlab could be better.

The lack of clear MechLab indications for minimum range (LRM, ATM, PPC, Heavy PPC, etc.) really gets me...
literally had to go to external websites (MechDB 2.0 these days, previously smurfy.de) to get this minimum range info!!
