After few weeks away, I login just to see everyone rushing for base caps to earn those 1000mc. Normal gameplay is impossible. Mulitple rounds in row...

Game turns into some kind ob mobile nonesense, free lollipop here, free beer here, oh and don't forget the free mech, or cbills if you shoot xxxxx rounds of whatever to expose your team. And after you are done, there are 5 new events.

But no, you can't earn anything if you play well - that would be nonsense to have something like that ingame....because...well, idiots have money too.

After everybody gets his "Win on Cap", everything will return to the usual routine. Actually, I am already seeing it happening.

From event to event it gets worse.

If you do not like free 'Mechs, just ignore those challenges and do not redeem your rewards ...

I like these events, especially when they force me to try different playstyles. I like how they force other people to try different things more though. Makes for unique experiences.

As a side note, many experts say that an over aggressive reaction to the prospect of change is a sign of a mental disability.

Usually they are not:
  • Monthly free 'Mech challenges last are four weeks long.
  • Lucky Charms Event lasts for one month too.
Just the current Corgi challenge is three days long and that's exception, not the rule.

Events are OP. Let's talk about how to nerf them.

The graphics in this game are OP. Let's talk about how to nerf them.

The comms wheel is the doom of this game. It's cheating to use it.

The name of this game is OP. I'm trying to login, and this MWO business keeps popping up. Couldn't we just have a game without an abbreviation.

I don't usually agree but this event is toxic.. people fighting and screaming at each other every match. people swearing at people not capping calling each other names..

This event was a mistake.. the capping part is so toxic.

I am having fun so far.

In the morning we capped a few bases, but people have probably fullfilled that condition and bases are mostly ignored now.

And of course, not every base rush is actually successful - some of them have turned into usual full team battles.

With mindsets like this, sometimes I pity PGI. There are some people who cannot (lack of income or expensive packs) or will not (PGI's past decisions, making personal demands or wanting to play for free) spend money on this game, justified or not. But It has to be a problem when PGI offers free rewards as an alternative for people who choose to play for free. Sure, I may not like it when I get bombarded with LRMs, peppered by RACs, or get grouped with toxic players, but at least I can be happy that I'm getting something out of it for putting up with that crap. Not to mention, with the low population of this game, I can't fault PGI for adding events that give free rewards like mechs, colors, patterns and MC to bring the numbers up. My advice, if you don't like events just skip them, it's not hard.

Normal gameplay? if i had an mc for every team potato that couldn't play the round objectives WHEN THEY NEEDED TO TO WIN, but just stood around or hid behind a rock trying to play sniper skirmish instead causing a loss.......... This event actually feels pretty tame

I disagree that this event has been a bad thing. It's actually been the best set of Assault games I've ever played in my life; for once, people actually cared about the objective and didn't turn it into Skirmish with extra steps.

Sure, they were bribed by the fat MC reward, but IMHO, it was worth it. I had a great time.

I vote against Skirmish consistently even outside event requirements specifically because I don't want to play a deathmatch gametype all day. I like fighting over objectives. I also like completing objectives.

It's times like these I actually wish QP had respawns the way FP does.

i got it in less than a dozen games. i think the problem is people forget about basic survival to do it and its almost impossible to cap win with a numbers disadvantage. unless you get lucky in a no contact nascar and then it turns into a contest of what team has the most cap accelerator nodes.

Yeah, the way I did it this morning, most of my team was keeping the OpFor at bay while I took like 4 ’Mechs around the flank. We were in Viridian Bog.

I don't think the OpFor even tried to capture our base, which leads me to suspect that they were mostly comprised of people who had already completed it and thus had little incentive to pursue it; they did leave a few defenders behind, though. I was intercepted by an Ebon Jaguar when I was making my way there in my Black Knight, and my capture lance ahead of me had to fight off a couple of lighter enemies.

Could it have been done better? Almost certainly. I was too slow for what I personally was doing, and ultimately didn't make it to the base, so I should have been helping the rest of my team keep the main body of the OpFor busy. In the end, we won, and everyone on my team who hadn't gotten it yet just made 1k MC today. :D

the annoying ones are the weapon spam challenges. i can feel my accuracy stats sinking and everyone is shooting like idiots at the start of the match. its as if this event was engineered to illicit the most foolish behavior from the player base possible. the fact that it does this so effectively makes this the best event ever.

Ah, yeah. I unfortunately just didn't care enough about the rewards for those challenges, so I elected to ignore them. Someone else in my unit was attempting to cheese a couple of them with AMS and LAMS yesterday, but when I tried to do the same thing, it just didn't seem to be worth it. lol

But yeah. This event was fun, for multiple reasons. :)

Normally I'm not a fan of devs trolling the player base, but this one was so well done, I can't help but smile.

/slowclap

As an aside, I like the special events. That one dude earlier likened them to mmo daily quests - I'm not sure I agree with that assessment, but I like daily quests too, so maybe he has a point.

Either way it's not often I come to say this, but; Good Job, PGI! Keep 'em coming!

There's so much bs in this that I wonder if you should read what disability really stand for. When you have no legs and arms you have a disability. The brain is never disabled. The brain always compensate for damages caused on the brain. This is why some features are less available than some. Them maybe lose their second language but the brain never end up in a state of disability. Only when you're dead is your brain disabled.

The events are the only thing that make people want to play the game. No events no game. I'd have finished the loot bag event if my pc hadn't died. The price of even budget pcs is insane right now. I managed to get a new hero mech and enough mc for a champion assult from the loot bags. I'd say the loot bag event is the best since you can get so much mc from it.
