Having played this particular event, I can agree with the OP's opinion knowing that some players could deliberately throw matches just to get the rewards, despite being a silly April Fool's theme.

But, my stance on "events ruining this game" being a toxic mindset still stands. Given the fact this game has a low population, there are people who are either unable or unwilling to spend money and we haven't had any new content in over 3 years (barring the 2 new maps and Crusader), I won't knock PGI for trying to bring in new players and appease the current playerbase with free mechs, mechbays, MC, Skin Patterns and colors. So yeah, if you don't like the events in this game, just skip them.

But no, you can't earn anything if you play well - that would be nonsense to have something like that ingame....because...well, idiots have money too.

If you hate events just play faction play or solaris. Those game modes never have events! (Hope they do soon but whatever). Either way seriously, play faction play it’s fun!

Okay, that was hilarious. First time dropping since before the weekend, so I just played my first game under this odd event. It was fixing to be a 12-5 Assault game, but instead we left the last King Crab alive and disarmed and literally seven of us just bodily pushed him off of the base so we could cap it.

But hey, one match, done with the silliness.

MWO must design the playing objectives carefully, so that players will not feel frustrated.
MWO please ensure that a few bad eggs won't spoil the entire batch (ie: the game mode itself).
