They're pointless to earn and pointless to open. Even the so called "Rare" cache best I got was a few random weapons I could have bought with CBills and a "super rare" lump o' coal cockpit item which I already have plenty of from previous events.

They just don't serve a good enough purpose, aren't fun to get get, aren't fun to open, and don't give anything worth really caring about. Please either get rid of them, or make them actually provide something people will care about, like mech bays, MC, or in the rare event actual mechs.

Don't open them then? As for me they have supplied lots of decals I would have to pay to get and plenty of extra cbills from selling off excess weapons. It's free stuff for simply playing the game why complain?

I like supply caches!

In addition to enjoying the game they give me something to work towards, not to mention it's FREE stuff just for playing, If I can use it Great, if not well it makes c-bills. Also as another poster said- it's a good way to get decals!!

OP- Just because you find them useless/pointless doesn't mean they should be done away with.

They're mostly insignificant amounts of free ****. They dont hurt but they don't add much.

Meh.

A few cBills here and there for selling the equipment and decals. The decals are random, but occasionally cool. I enjoy the letters best.

Its free, what's not to like?

The Supply Caches are available to everyone which was a huge improvement to the single random award that used to be made in a match.

You do realize that most people equivocate "UR" to meaning "Your" or "You're" when reading text, right? Not everyone is going to get that "UR" means "Ultra-Rare" in this case, even though the discussion is about Supply Caches in terms of context. :(

It's a common acronym when talking about graded rarities like this... not my fault that they don't know it.

as little useful as the caches are - they're free (now).

there's no hurt involved, so just don't open them if you don't want to (I know I don't anymore).
still, somebody else (new players) might be happy to get one, so..
what's the point in taking it away from them?

just chill, have a beer and let's brag about how many unopened caches we have instead ;)

it takes effort to delete them, it takes the same amount of effort to improve them. ignoring them takes no effort.

I rather like them, nothing wrong with free stuff!

Then again, I've only been here a short amount of time so a lot of the stuff in them is still useful to me.

It is free, you can simply ignore them if you don't want them or do it like me: open the rare ones every blue moon. I don't know how anyone can complain about that

Really... We've now sunk so low to as to complain about free stuff? Posted Image

I mean between events, grab bags, mech giveaways and loyalty rewards, are not being sufficiently placated?

Our shiny trinkets have lost their luster and we are now desirous of more valuable metals and baubles apparently...

Ya'll know these shiny trinkets are just a slight of hand diversion that the end is neigh for MWO right?

I ignore those Supply Caches:

1. Those original caches - anybody still remembers them? - were full of useless junk. Even if they seemed to contain a 'Mech, PGI admitted later that the odds of actually getting that 'Mech were weighted down to make getting that 'Mech almost impossible.

2. The current reworked Supply Caches are full of useless junk. Seriously, tenth Flamer or twentieth Small laser or some ugly Decal?

Guess I was luckier than you on the old crates, I picked up a Centurion and a Spider (which was sold almost instantly). What I did like was seeing the possible prize, deciding that it was going to be the worst one available but pleasantly surprised when it was something remotely worthwhile :)

Junk weapons just go into the Xmas fund when I sell them out of the inventory, still better than nothing.

Sure thing, I know that you can always sell stuff.

But personally speaking, I think that players should open their newly awarded Supply Cache with the pleasant feeling of "What magnificent or unique thing will I get from the cache?" and not with "What useless piece of junk will I get from that crate again?"
