This one's a work in progress using what I've learned for HTML5 from Bouncing Urbie. It is now in a playable state.

Urbie Defense
Defend your lance of four Urbanmechs that have become separated from their company. The clan battle armor are coming in from all directions and all must be destroyed to survive!

Download Here

After you download the zip file, extract it somewhere on your computer. After that just open UrbieDefense.htm in the latest version of the Chrome, Firefox, or IE web browser. It may also work in Safari, haven't tried that yet, but it does appear to run best in Chrome.

I almost put the Beta badge on this, however I'm still considering it an Alpha because the collision detection can be pretty bad, so I have decided to implement Box2d physics for the beta. For now its still perfectly playable and fun so I thought I'd share ^_^ As for the framerate, its expected to always be around 60 fps no matter how fast your computer is. If you get something way off from that let me know, as the game may not play as intended. Once I implement Box2d I should be able to write it so its not so frame dependent.

I just got it so you can play without first having to download it.

Also after some feedback I realized Wave 1 was too slow and boring, so I shifted the waves down 1 so it starts to get hard by Wave 3 or 4.

Just made a small update to the web version, you can play it here: http://minimek.sourceforge.net

notable changes:

1. you can now hold down the mouse button to continuously fire
2. you can now right click the mouse button for an alternate fire mode where each Urbie fires simultaneously (still perfecting this one)
3. it now takes 3 Elementals (but still only 1 Golem) to swarm an Urbie
4. the early levels aren't as boring

My plans for the next Alpha version (before I start to implement Box2d for the beta) are to have different weapons to choose from at the start of the game (e.g. LBX10, UAC10, RAC5... maybe PPC, HVAC10)

There's no sound in the game mainly because I had issues with Chrome crashing after playing a few sounds, so I decided I'm come back to that for a beta release. I'm just not a fan of Tower defense games, the strategy game I have "planned" I think will be much more deep

Was a lot of fun. Made it to wave 14, 13640 score, used the RAC5 my first attemp before my LoL group decided not to wait any more. Plan on topping my score later tonight

I think I found a bug of some sort, if you leave it running in another tab in Chrome, when you go back the entire wave will have surrounded you, so don't do that. Overall, I think this should be the loading game for MWO or something like that.

Wave 17, score 212970. The RAC5 is the only gun for me that's made it past wave 7. Still remains fun

not a bug, I just haven't yet implemented a Pause functionality yet! I'll make sure the beta gets one proper :P

Yeah its quite OP right now, what I'll be playing with for the beta is having you purchase your upgrades since you'd start with the AC10. Also probably even making it so the RAC5 takes twice as many hits to kill an enemy.

Do you want to implement different look for different weapons? I mean, it's easy to draw and changing model to use should not be very hard and as long as the cannon is around the size of the original, you should have no problem with touch detection, either.

/joke: But what about mechlab? Every BTech game must have one.
