what is with maintenance issue? was playing and got booted and when i signed back in it said servers down for maintenance

Neither twitter nor the status page lists anything. They probably had to reboot something. Seems fine-ish now.

That's actually a generic error message the client displays when it cannot connect to the backend server.

True, it could just as easily be DNS on your provider’s side.

i was having problems with it last night. things like matchmaking has failed, etc. i switched my dns to cloudflare and the problems went away. just go into adapter properties and then ipv4 and put in the cloud flare dns server ips (1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1), or use one of the other options like google (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4).

there has been a lot of dns issues lately. possibly the result of russian cyber attacks (back in high school i had russian friends, and every one of them had hacking skills). hulu is also completely borked as well and verizon was having network issues the other day.
