Sugestion:
NARC mech gets rewarded as if dealing 10% of the damedge a NARCed target takes from LRM's and other sources that take advantage of the NARC.
that way it isn't hyper benefisial to bring a NARC but atleast you get something.

That's the only reward they deserve.

SIR!
The Cauldron loves all forms of gameplay as they have stated time and time again. Regardless of what everyone sees and states about what they're seeing in drops they have the all mysterious 'data' (ALL HAIL THE DATA) that irrefutably shows that long range, pin point, high alpha damage is absolutely not the meta gameplay. They've assured of us all of this with absolutely nothing but 'lulz git gud' posts so they're obviously being very up front and honest with us.
For the original post, anything other than pumping as much damage as humanly possible into every mech you see doesn't matter and is therefore not really worth any points and you're just wasting your time to do anything but sit on a ridge or hilltop somewhere at long range NOT sniping at people. Note I said NOT sniping because sniping is NOT the meta. I said LONG RANGE alpha striking. That's totally different from sniping.
NARCing, while incredibly helpful to your team doesn't do any actual damage and since most maps now afford abundant high cover to stand behind (before popping out to high alpha strike someone from long range) LRMs don't really do well with IDF. LRMs are now meant to be fired over the 200 yards of open range between you and the charging light that will be in your back, up your butt, and coring you within .037 seconds. Or allowing you to wave at the ECM covered sniper... errr long range alpha striker... before he shreds you with his 15 ER Large Lazors for which he gains no ghost heat.
(Please note I speak only in sarcasm and poor english....)

Or you can just double down on the 80,000 c-bill loss of two uavs each match.

He was stealth+narc+light ppcs.
He was killing enemies slowly, one to one. Using narc just to know enemies position.

if an LRM boat kills a target that has your narc on it. You get cbills, xp and score.
TAG as well... plus you get rewards when the target is damaged by friendly LRMs while you have TAG on it.

Yus, when in a group with dedicated LRM boats, all the rewards tend to add up substantially.
Such a group is also the only place where you can know your loadout is actually useful and not a detriment to the team, so I strongly recommend bringing a narc raven only when playing with friends.

actually, they're more useful since they don't waste tonnage.
seriously though: do. not. EVER. bring a narc, outside of a group on comms with at least 1 lurmer.
it's many tons down the drain that could've been used for something useful. something that actually kills stuff.
and killing stuff - THAT is how you win in QP.

What if you bring Narc AND lurms

srsly though: in that case, imo an additional launcher, more ammo, more HS. more armor or JJs .. is more useful.
can't think of any mech that has ~5t to invest into narc that can't be used better.
can you?

NARC ammo is also not made from old LRMs so the range does not blend with them. And Beefy McMissile may not survive his trip to the front to shoot a NARC.

Well not all Narcs are 3tons.... but I have personally witnessed these mechs do well, and don't really see reason why not if pilot is good enough to land that narc from range (ACW can do it pretty close because it's fast enough to get distance when needed.)
(Builds might not be exactly what they were but idea is.)

personal preference, but: maaaaybe I could see it on the the summoner. I think I'd still prefer an ATM build to that, or an srm-build to both.
got a sunspooder that runs lurms without narc, and I srsly prefer that build.
finally, an arctic-wolf1 with lrm5 makes me cry. that thing is made for serious srm-bombing, and it oh so much fun.
lrm5-wolf gives me an itchy-trigger-finger

You are prefering builds over other builds without ever trying other build...

Hello there, 'Meltachoom', and welcome to MWO and all of the various battlefields and game mechanics which it has. As it seems that I am really the only person in this thread so far to actually welcome a new player such as yourself, I guess I have to apologize for the hazing which you have apparently encountered from part of our Community here. I hope you'll have better days here in the future!!!
That said, your suggestion feels like it is overdue for adding to MWO's gameplay rewards. Why use a NARC if you're not going to get paid for it unless an extremely rare condition occurs? Yeah, there should definitely be some payment for all the effort required to get behind the Enemy and set them up for attacks from your own Team which you're trying to help. So you most certainly get my...

...for provisioning a "NARC Damage" Reward in order to entice more usage of the NARC device during normal gameplay in the available battlezones by players. Let's hope this eventually happens and makes NARC more worth using than the rare little that it currently is valued at.
