thats not anything against the music. pgi has actually done a good job with the music in the mechwarrior franchise, especially the mw5 soundtrack. its just that its gotten old. reign in blood is a great album, but i dont listen to it every day.

But yeah, it's not a bad soundtrack.
I don't know when you were last playing MWO much. But, for all the time during which I have been playing, there has never been mission-long music that would have to be turned off in order for one to hear Mech footsteps. There's a blurb at the front, and then nothing more until the battle is done. Were you perhaps talking about MW5:M instead?

There was one guy, after someone shot me a host/raid, that flipped out in the chat because apparently every time he visited my stream "Highway Star" by Deep Purple just happened to be on... Now, I'll admit, that my playlist did need to be updated/expanded, but the playlist was still significantly longer than the stream was. Not my fault that Winamp's RNG regularly decided to play Highway Star a minute before this guy popped in. I have to admit, I was a little taken aback by the guy flipping out in chat, but, hey, he said he was never coming back and left, so... Um, ok, bro, you do you, I guess?

just in case:
yes, you can hear 'Highway Star' too often. Got it in my car (on 2? or 3 live-albums) and I skip it more and more.
but..
it's been there for 5? years or so and comes up on a nearly daily basis, so...
anyway; can't delete it, cause good-music is still good-music, even after you 'overdosed' on it and can't stand it anymore.
give it a few days and withdrawal sets in ;D

So there's not music during the actual match? Hmm. It's been years since I've had it on.
Maybe I turned it off to clear comms between FP matches, I dunno.
