Especially with reasonably equally sized organized groups, Faction Play — apart from some Dutch guy upbraiding players, but I mean, that's Dutch — can be downright relaxing. Ironically, in a "who cares?" kind of way.

The pace certainly ebbs and flows in a more pleasing manner with 4 'Mechs to chew through before you're out.

Relax man, relax. It's why you're playing games, remember? I doubt you enjoy being stressed, so don't stress about the stats and just enjoy the game.

Unless you play competitive. Then I get that stuff gets real very quickly. Are you a competitive player?

I'm not a Comp-Level Elite at all, and don't really want to be. At the same time, I've seen the era (which may still be partially happening even now) of how people are toxic and dismiss other's words if their Public Stats are not good enough, and there are things which got derived & published for all to see (proof @ The Jarl's List site, no login needed, makes them too easy to view... I wish they were restricted by MWO's Login without sacrificing credential security, but that would require an effort by PGI to pull them in-house too, which could also go through some unwanted legal nastiness) which had never really crossed my mind before. This caused me to look at other more-private Stats and realize that I was far from what could be called "reasonable" at a minimum. Since then, those certain particular items are what I'm working upon, because I can see once it reaches a maintainable certain point that I've then reached part of the "reasonable" point which stands like a barrier in front of me. I guess it's sitting on my shoulders like an overload of peer pressure, which of course equivocates to stress that I'm having to put in an effort to end because it will not be gone until I have done so, and can wrongfully remain without regard to how I may feel on the matter unless I put in that effort. :(

Add to this the fact that if you're put with a bad Team which fails to communicate on the field, there is then the stress of putting up with their problems along with your own. Stack on the issue of more stress due to only getting one single chance with a particular Mech during every battle, with no respawns to try again and really learn from mistakes which happened, because some people can not learn as much from not getting a second chance in the same round. And don't forget the extra stress that happens when someone is trying to escape a bad Team which left them without their current Mech to use again for a while, because it puts extra pressure on the nerves to quickly swap out to something else. While we're at it, there is also the stress induced when someone wants to complete a Match Objective where a choice has to be made and finish in the best way possible, and they properly state the logic to why it should be done that way to the Team which they got put with, but then they get denied the ability to complete that (and end up more stressed) because a Teammate decides to steal from their whole Team and be wrongfully bloodthirsty by taking the final Kill over getting the better pay & result to enjoy.

In the end, one can come to MWO trying to get rid of stress, and end up finding more because of too many things being against them. Like... Where's the enjoyable Teamwork & Communication that I used to see around here on the order of 6+ years ago (approximate time as of when this is posted) which made MWO actually feel fun and not stressful? Why do people think they have to force someone to be quiet by letting them die when that communicative person is trying to help their Team avoid being eliminated, and usually results in the downfall of that Team entirely because they were forced into silence? It makes no sense, and is both stressful and not fun, which can make one question if MWO is something worth doing anymore at a time when losing players is literally not healthy for the game's survival, and also not healthy for PGI's survival either.

This last paragraph (which might be worth a separate thread for the laughs) may be only a conspiracy theory, but I'm beginning to think a bunch of bad actors have come here who are trying to wipe out MWO because those who play here don't play certain other games which the bad actors have deemed are better. It would basically boil down that the bad actors are trying to kill MWO from the inside out in order to force people out to the games which the bad actors want to force others to play instead even if people don't want to. (I came to MWO specifically because of having previously played the "MechWarrior 2&3" games due to not really having other options, and might never have come here if I had never played them at all. I do not want to play CoD/Halo when the gameplay of MWO is my intended choice!) I just hope to find that this conspiracy theory is merely a bad joke which my mind randomly popped up with. -_-

I guess at this point, 'Zeddicuus', it ends up that I have to apologize and ask your forgiveness for going way over into Verbose Mode with a wall-of-text posting which might be considered embarrassingly long... Sorry!

Stress levels playing MWO: None, it's a videogane. It has all the real world impact of a fart in a hurricane. If you lose a match, so what? If you win a match, so what?

Don't take this more seriously than the phrase "big stompy robots" implies.
