Where is "Pending mech" option? I imagine it as 1000-ton Colossus with Atlases in each hand, which it uses as throwing weapons.

My 1st game, I'll probably use my Atlas, for the pure feeling of awesomness...

But I suspect in the long run, when I'll look at stats about what classes I used, that I'll be more of a Heavy or Medium kind of pilot...
Also, if my aiming is very good, what beat an Awesome 3 PPCs...

Light and Medium Mechs for me... Scouting and Harassing on Light mechs and fire support when in medium mechs

I will honestly run any and all classes. I tend to find specific mechs that I like rather than classes. Also having your favourite amongst different classes lets you switch up what type of role you play during the battles.

Either light proper or assault proper. Anything in between is meh to me.

Give me a Marauder II and a Wolfhound and I'm perfectly happy with just those two.

I tend to go assault purely for the firepower and ability to tear apart other 'mechs before they know what hit them. Kinda want me a Daishi, but if I'm not mistaken, that's Clantech. Atlas will do.

I sometimes go Medium though, if I need the speed.

Anything that can dodge around enough to not get hit until you overheat. Or another assault with reflective armour.

I prefer to use heavies, but am not in love with any of my options there. Unless my "Unseen Campaign" bears fruit, and I gt my "Hammer or MAD-3D, with their paired PPCs, I will probably go with either the Awesome or the Hunchback..... really need to run both in actual gameplay to see how they handle before deciding, as I have often found that the "superior" mech on paper isn't, in the game. I always found the Direwolf in MW4, for instance to be a damage magnet, that would seem to just cluster center torso damage..... whereas I could run the same missions in Victors or Thanatos, and barely be scratched.

good thing reflective armor doesn't exist for another 15 years... and it realistically only helps with lasers, as PPCs deliver damage in a far different manner. You don''t stop lightning bolts with a mirror.
