Most powerful mech in the IS using ppcs. More powerful than an AWS 9M with ERPPC's. How long will you let the absurd light mech>everything else mechanic rule the game? These lights should melt before outgunning an assault, but its almost assured. You can watch them shed damage like its nothing and kill 2 or 3 enemy mechs in a face to face. This current meta is ridiculous. That is all.

as far as I know light mechs still have the lowest average match score and win rate across all classes

Urbs also have the armor to tank better than an atlas. I've seen only the ecm snub or lppc version since it got ecm. The rest arn't even used.

The ecm urbie is kinda strong with twin snubs for sure due to the quirks and high mounts. Makes for some really good poptarting as you only expose a sliver of your mech. Dunno if its wrecking three assaults in a row by face tanking them though.. Posted Image

Only the lightest of the Light mechs** cannot afford 6ton weapons...

So any mech** can equip 2x Snub Nose PPC and blast away... it's almost a cancer... spreading everywhere...

Anyways, about Urbie UM-R80 with 2x Snub Nose PPC, see below, enjoy!
(DATA's take on UM-R80)

WL 2, KDR 2.67, AVG MS 427

datas this months assaults:
WL 5.8, KDR 4.56, AVG MS 480

yes, and it racks up 1400+dmg and does an ace of spades every 2nd match.
..oh.. wait. Posted Image
it doesn't.
it's assault-mechs that do that.

but it's good to see that some things never change around here; the IDF-braveboys™ are crying in another thread that IDF from 1000mtrs away doesn't work as they want it to, while assault/heavy pilots are bashing on lightmechs.
and out of all the people out there, they pick a 'DATA'-video to back up their claims.
the mwo-crowd really is kinda special Posted Image

"urbie op" has always been a meme. hence "urbie op pls buff". if you were not aware of this, sorry. its only claim to fame is that its the best is heavy weapons light, a role the clans field a lot more (adder, cougar, kitfox). there is some debate about whether the concept of the heavy weapons light was ever a viable playstyle. while i personally do pretty good in that role, i dont think you could quite call it meta. most meta urbies usually just go pulse lasers and even then you get the performance of a light.

Here you got pure ERPPC aws-9m and here is template for most powerful PPC Urbie, please finish that build with PPCs so it is more powerful than that awesome above and post reply.

I'm about 100% sure that you cannot and your claim is full of ....

I do think the Urbie is a little overbuffed compared to its peers. Start by pulling back some armor or weapon cooldown bonuses.

imo, a lot of lightmechs, specifically the 'bigger' ones that nobody complains about,
are simply underperforming.
so a round of buffs to 'up' the rest would be in order. nerfing the stuff people actually use and enjoy is the wrong way of balancing stuff.

Yes, how dare the Urbie perform at 60% the ability of Assault and Heavies. We all know lights should only perform at 25% of these heavier mechs, nerf hammer time!

If you think Urbies are OP, OP, have you seen the Snub Anni? It has an Urbie on each arm, and because Anni never skips arm day, she carries AN EXTRA snub alongside each Urbie! Madness! Nerf Annihilators!!

I will say that as an LPPC/SNPPC poptart/ridge humper, the Urbie is exceptional

but there's nothing wrong with a light being really good at a role you know

I too was shocked with UrbanMech armor/structure; it's a 30ton Light mech, but it feels much closer to a medium mech moving at fast speed (generally 85-100 kph), which makes it tough to defeat (and we are not even talking about Urbanmech's weapons yet!).

1) I was in my ANH-2A boating AC5 canons in Solaris City QP, last enemy was a weakened UrbanMech, he came straight at me despite my constant firing... and I was shocked at how many shots it took to kill it. (Not enough data? See below point 2).

2) Just yesterday I was in my MAD-6S again in Solaris City QP, and last enemy was (yep, you guessed it!) an UrbanMech UM-R80 with still pretty fresh armor, ECM and 2x Snub PPC.

I nicked UM-R80 with my 2xSNPPC, and its ECM went offline.

Two nearby Heavy mech teammates tried to damage UM-R80, but it escaped relatively unscathed & started to run away.

It was then that my slower MAD-6S finally arrived, and I shot off two (2) volleys within 0.5 seconds of each other:
a) Volley #1: LBX10 + 3xSNPPC
b ) Volley #2: 2xSNPPC

Volley #1 destroyed a side torso, and I think UM-R80 had thermal shutdown.
Volley #2 hit its mark because foe did not move, finally killing it.
~~Will leave it to you folks to do the math as to how much damage this UM-R80 took before being destroyed.

Admittedly this was one of my (very) rare accurate shots; my aim is not usually like this.

And this is a 30ton Light mech!! Urbanmech too much armor/structure for its speed.
And we are not even talking about Urbanmech's weapons yet.
Or UM-R80 which has ECM + JJ !
