To MWO: Hero mech packs are another way to obtain recurrent revenue!

Here's my suggestion for the next Hero Mech Pack (similar to the Rivals Hero Pack):
~Atlas with twin ballistic LT/RT, similar to Cyclops, Mauler MAL-1R, Fafnir FNR-5
~Dire Wolf with ECM in CT, and no JumpJet. Similar to the Blood Asp BAS-E

I would jump at such a Hero mech pack !! Posted Image

Neither of those are particularly unique, especially the Atlas. There are like a bajillion different IS assaults that can go dual Heavy Gauss already.

i had an idea about doing a pack with an urbie iic and black hawk (nova) ku. so you get an is mech posing as clan and vice versa. but as a stand alone hero pack, i think it works. these would be done sort of like the origins pack, with only minimal changes to the mech geometry. not sure how you would address the fact that the ku is an is omnimech.

‘There’s entire mechs designed around that LT/RT ballistic that we’ve never seen. I’m not sure that we need them, as the build idea is represented well in the weight class already.

My favorite was always the Pillager. It’s artwork has changed a lot over the years, but the first pic was essentially a Griffin bulked up to 100 tons with an AC/20 under each arm. The severed wasp head was a nice touch.

1) A new Hero 'Mech should bring something unique. I know that this is not easy, but still ...

There are other assault 'Mechs with ballistic hardpoint in side torsos - Annihilator, Fafnir, Mauler or Cyclops.
Daishi is pretty good with ECM, it really does not need to be fine tuned even further.

2) Hero 'Mech should not suck because:

a) it gets hardpoints that it can not reasonably use. See "Florentine" designed around ballistic hardpoints.

b) it gets hardpoints unsuitable for the current state of the game. See the brand new "Crael". Boating MGs in the current (long) ranged meta is usually not successful, especially on a big 'Mech. You do not meet too many Craels in the game, even though the 'Mech pack is quite fresh. Essentially, they all but disappeared a few days after the 'Mech pack was delivered.

i figure the crael would be better as an ac2/5 boat. usually with 6/4 guns installed, would be a beast if we ever get lacs.
