But there are such things as bad days, or trying new builds / chassis, playing mechs that are not fully skilled.

I hate the direction MWO has taken, I think the new maps are crap and I resent the current meta. I actually think the game is less balanced then it was before the cauldron situation.
In fact I deleted my account, but there's a 30 day grace period so I reactivated it. Couldn't bring myself to do it, the account is ancient with lots of mechs and a **** ton of CBills.
I'm 40. MWO is the last game I play.
For the first time in a long time my "XP bar" is not full.
I still have nights where I enjoy it, but mostly I don't.
This resentment effects my performance big time.
I'm using this more as an opportunity to vent than anything. But yea my performance went down big time because I hate the game at the moment.

And only 40? Don't make it sound like you're too ancient to game.

People working on their new Hero 'Mechs.
And of course, the heat outdoors (and indoors) is terrible.

Those videos are depressing too.. But meh I take it as an additional challenge to be overcome. It's blindingly obvious who are using the radar cheats anyways.

Take a break from MWO, why play something that you don't enjoy? Come back in month or two maybe even a half Years break, if you still don't feel it don't play.
I'm having break myself also, didn't enjoy game this spring anymore so why play it? I'm still reading forums and stuff but haven't felt need to click icon on desktop to launch game yet, maybe soon. Kinda want to test if snubbies are OP AF as some people claim here daily basis...

I couldn't care less about stats anymore, there were days when my goal was 99 percentile... been there seen that and now without giving a damn about performance cannot find enjoyment of this game atm, so not playing. Not my 1st break since closed beta.

What is it specifically about Cauldron changes you resent? The overwhelming majority of them have improved the diversity of viable chassis and loadouts. There have also been few nerfs to previously strong weapons like the IS MPL.

Until the weapon you liked most was virtually removed from the game. I haven't played in years and the cauldron with the sniping meta plus the vastly larger number of ecm mechs makes wanting to remotely play my lrm boats has me going eh i'll just go back to my fun games like skyrim and ark.
Lrms are a pain in the *** to use now even when you do have everything* to use them.
*All the ecm counters which I won't list but expect to use up to six tons of equipment and invest three fourths of your nodes into mostly sensors and fire power. If you don't have the minimal uav you are doing it badly as a lrm-er.

While the chassis balances and quirks are very well done, the weapons balance isn't. The weapon emphasis shifted rather than making it more balanced across the board.
ATMs, SRMs, MRMs and LRMs have been pushed in the background and are used less or not used at all. LBXs are uncommon and only boated in large numbers and virtually unused otherwise. I don't know when the last time I saw an LB20X was. IS AC5 is still unused. IS AC10 is still rare, only boated on a few mechs. LGauss and HGauss have seen a brief resurgence, but are now uncommon. RACs while still there are not used as much either.
The cauldron didn't actually balance the weapons, but rather made it so that it suits a certain play style with emphasis on PPFLD and long range. The power creep is showing too.
If it's your preference and you like it that's fine. The game is actually not more balanced, just different, and the PPC saturation is getting stale.

SRMs and MRMs do not require locks, so they are still partially usable.
