Ever played Hunchback IIC, and when you shoot your uacs, it covers your entire field of vision?

Here's an idea, just use the RAC muzzle flashes on rapid-fire and burst-fire weapons. You can literally do it merely by XML, by having them refer to the muzzle-flashes of the RAC.

If you would indulge us that are not so tech savvy as to editing files in programs how is this done? is it allowed? Last I checked editing config. files long ago in proprietary software that doesn't belong to me is um highly frowned upon (illegal)

I'm not trying to be an arse about anything, just want to cover mine before I attempt said action.

Thanks!
-Rondoe.

FYI-last time I messed with game files was on a 486 processor computer, maybe a pentium 1, also when the internet sucked and still used dial up.

Been a pinned thread in general forum, if you're afraid it's not approved or anything lol

:) Nightbird got ya pointed in the right direction, nor are you directly modifying a game file... per the above link, these are the two files that are player made and not part of the game by default - user.cfg and tuning.cfg..

Only yours? Or turns off muzzle flash for EVERYONE?

Because if it is for everyone, then it'll make ACs and PPCs more incognito.

How would you be able to affect other peoples client by configuring yours...

I guess he means that the setting reduces the muzzle flashes of other players in his client.

But is this editing cfg file to reduce blinding muzzle flashes legal in this MWO game??

Think Rondoe was also concerned about this legality part...as am I...

Some folks have non-Standard Variants numbering into triple digits... and the last thing one wants is to get a perma-ban on your MWO account...

(especially now that the Platinum Collection is rolling out like snow flakes...and I am not complaining!)

It's understandable that you're concerned. I suggest looking at the pinned thread posted in the official MWO forum until the legality of the edit becomes clear.

That makes more sense...
Probably totally different things in game engine
What you create by shooting and see vs what you see when others shoot.

Good luck, Have fun! Happy Hunting! May all your kills be glorious combat!
