As a new player when I hear that I can buy a Hero and get a light or medium Hero if I buy it "through the Web store on MWO or Steam"

That would include the in game store since that is through the web and I accessed it through steam. After speaking with support about this issue I get what they meant now but the wording is not clear and lead me into making a purchase I would not have made or would have made in a different way. I am extremely disappointed that support will not fix this.

The wording on The Prime Rewards should be made clearer.

You could also swear that reading is a well distributed skill in the modern world Posted Image the Prime reward clearly says webstore/steam.
The good news is that you are eligible for the MC reward Posted Image

Wouldn't it be logical to assume that a store in a game online would be a webstore or that if you launch it via steam that that would also qualify? Sure when it is explained it makes since but the wording for the prime even is very poorly worded and could be a lot clearer.

It wouldn't, because the accepted nomenclature with these things is that a "webstore" is accessed through a web browser, out of the game. You're mixing it up with "in-game store". A "cash shop" could be either.

Sure, it could - "on MWOMercs.com or Steam Storefront" .

"Web store on MWO" Would be the store within the game. What is MWO? The game right. so signifying that the webstore is on MWO would specifically clearly insinuate that the store is in game. Now your suggestion of adding the web address would specifically signify that it is not.

Show me any other games calling in-game stores "web stores".

When it says on MWO that would infer that it was on the game.

... we both know that's a massive stretch in attempt to rationalize your own mistake. The standard nomenclature in the industry simply doesn't use the term "web store" to refer to in-game stores.
According to Oxford Languages:

Quote

web store
noun
noun: web store; plural noun: web stores; noun: webstore; plural noun: webstores; noun: web shop; plural noun: web shops; noun: webshop; plural noun: webshops
a website by means of which goods, services, or software may be purchased or obtained.
According to Logistik Knowhow:

Quote

A web store (also online store, e-shop) can be described as a sales and communication-oriented website.
According to PCMag:

Quote

See online store.
Online Store:
(1) A website for retail sales. See Internet retailer.

You can also see this eg in last year's Black Friday sale announcement, where PGI referred to "In-Game" and "Web Store" as separate categories: https://mwomercs.com...r-monday-sales/
