I WOULD spend money on some mech packs that would appeal to me though:
A hero catapult with ballistics in its arms
Urbanmech IIC
Some wacky Cicada variant, or some mech variant that's wildly unique
I would also be willing to spend money if PGI experimented with 8v8 again or adding a dropdeck to QP, at least temporarily, to see community feedback.
Or some actual game development outside of a new map and a new mechpack.
What about you?

Savage Wolf (Extremely unlikely to happen even compared to the other ’Mechs in this list, I know, but I can dream… In the unlikely event it does get ported in, it’d probably be after other Dark Age ’Mechs got in ahead of it.)
SLDF unit decals, especially the Royal Black Watch Regiment
Fire Moth
Mixed-tech BattleMechs
Inner Sphere OmniMechs

I bought their latest MW5 DLC based solely on them giving code to mod makers early so that mods like Yet Another Mechlab would be updated the same day of the release. Otherwise, I would have skipped it.

Also, I would jump at these, and MWO has to pay for the electricity bill, right?
1) Hero mechs such as:
~Dire Wolf hero with ECM in CT, but no JumpJet (the DWF-C has ECM+JJ in its CT, which takes up 3 tons!)
~Atlas hero with total 4x ballistic hardpoints in its Left/Right Torso
~Blood Asp hero with ballistic hardpoints in its Right Arm
~Warhawk hero with JJ in its legs (similar to BAS-E)
2) Existing Hero mechs:
~Let MWO/Cauldron balance the Hero mechs, similar to recent efforts on Banshee BNC-LM hero.
~Then add additional +2.5% Heat Dissipation to CT for all Hero mechs.
3) Existing and future Special Variants (S), (P), (L), ®, (I), (O), etc.
~Let MWO/Cauldron balance all Special Variants mechs as usual, similar to recent efforts April 2021 to present (Aug 2022).
~Then add additional -2.5% Heat Gen to CT for all Special Variant mechs.
~Note: The Standard Variant version of these same mechs does not have this -2.5% Heat Gen.
(eg: STK-7D(S) has additional -2.5% Heat Gen. Whereas STK-7D has no such bonus.)
- - - - - - - - - -
4) Specifically, in retrospect, MWO/PGI had painted itself into a corner from a premium mech package sales point of view.
~The only recent premium mech pack with significant recurrent sales perhaps are:
~Warden Booster Pack with DWF-C(S) + TBR-BH(S)
~Hunter Booster Pack with STK-7D(S) + PXH-7S(S)
~Predator Booster Pack with BAS-E(S) + SHC-D(S)
~perhaps the Rivals Hero mech pack with RGH-BLT + SNS-AMB dual hero mechs.
The other premium mech packs launched April 2021 to present have (much?) lower recurrent sale volume.
After all, DWF-C standard variant sells for virtual CBills, so why buy the DWF-C(S) with real money?
Perhaps premium Hero mech packs (similar to Rivals hero pack) would have more recurring cash/MC sale?
Perhaps MWO could have achieved better recurring mech pack sale if Hero mech packs were launched, instead of the Stryker/Bloodname Booster Packs (ie: a 50% / 50% mech pack of Hero vs Special Variant Booster Packs).
Anyways, guess this is for the historians to analyze and pick the bones now...

1 - new gameplay modes, such as better implemented Incursion, modes with tanks in them, things that have more depth to them than just "stand in the laser box to win".
2 - Mechbay decorations. Easy one, PGI, just sell us banners with house/clan heraldry or existing mech decals. https://mwomercs.com...ay-decorations/
3 - Ability to buy more limited edition cockpit items. I want 3 more Tukkayid banners, more Elite founder danglies, more tourney supporter warhorns, more loyalty bagpipe warhorns. Let me pay cash to get duplicates of things I already own so I can have one in every mech in a drop deck. https://mwomercs.com...2%80%9d-button/
4 - Make My Mech Special. Charge us something to make any one mech we own into a +30% cBill grinder. https://mwomercs.com...favorite-mechs/
...
Short of MWO 2.0 with melee on the same game engine as MW5. But that's another topic entirely and out of scope for this one!

the crusader came out at a bad time, not a mech i like very much, and i was only really interested in the hero. i wasn't about to spend $40 on the collectors pack to unlock the option to buy the hero for an additional $15. are they even bothering to do standard packs anymore? if im gonna blow $55 i might as well just buy a game, or buy beer so at least i can enjoy the stale experience of mwo. the seeming lack of a standard option completely kills any reasonable purchase i would have done on this pack.
platinum packs ultimately, is just a skin pack. no new variants to sweeten the deal. i saw it as the blatant cash grab and nothing more. i really dont like those. i did like the booster packs, and the rivals pack. but those were more an alignment of surplus funds than any actual desire to own those packs.
as for what i spend money on. any time there is a good deal on mech bays or mc. stand alone heroes (many of which were direct cash purchases, as opposed to free mc ground from events i usually use). im also debating getting the latest mw5 dlc, more for completeness, but i probibly wont play it. i would pay for new weapons or weapon variants, but that is probibly not going to happen.

But only if it uses a better engine!

I'd also spend real world money on audio packs that changes the generic pilot voices to a diverse cast of voice acting appropriate for Clans/IS houses and factions. I'm aware of the custom command wheel, but I would love to have more options and possible custom player models to go along with loyality factions, independent mercenaries, etc.

An "easy" new weapon to add would be the Binary Laser. Shares geometry with a LL so nothing new there.
Make a mechpack with the canon Zeus variant (this one might need new geometry if they want it to look good) and the Marauder variant that carried them, give a few other random mechs quirks for the binary laser, balance by The Cauldron.

I think their biggest mistake was at the mechcon where they first announced mw5 instead of any thing mwo or mwo 2 in ue4/5. Or it could have been the $500 per gold mech skins. Pgi has a big history of mistakes so it's hard to nail it down to just "the one."
