Abusing SNPPC by eating the Ghost Heat is no longer viable.
Previously, any mech with -10% Heat or more can just eat the Ghost Heat and fire off 3xSNPPC, which I've previously called an abuse.
Before this Aug-2022 patch (aka SNPPC weapon adjustment), I could previously:
~Fire off all four (4x) SNPPC on WHM-6R and reach Heat Capacity of ~75%. But no longer (instant shutdown).
~Fire off all three (3x) SNPPC on PNT-9R and can Alpha twice!! But no longer.

A more neutral change would be to roll back the stats 2-3 patches ago or just remove the splash

And I see lots of 4 or 6 snub heavies and assaults post patch, just firing them 2x2(x2). What the nerf did was stop folks from using mechs like my 3 snub Vulcan. You clearly didn't encounter too many of those little devils, or you wouldn't be so hard on 2 snub Urbies.

I loved my little 3 snub Vulcan. It's still ok, and I still Alpha all 3 a lot of the time, but you have to watch the heat bar a lot more.

I suck at it.
Seriously, my hand is more unstable than Charles Manson on meth.

No, they're still viable. Firing 3x3 or 2x2x2, the -20% heat quirk of the 8Q makes it work. Just resist the urge to fire 4 at once and its actually hard to overheat in a brawl.

Gauss hasn't been meta for years, same goes for ERLLs... haven't been meta for even longer. They've made a return only fairly recently. These weapons are far from standard when it comes to MWO meta.
No one was touching the Gauss after the drastic cooldown increase which was, I don't know, 4-5 years ago?

I hadn’t played in that time period but I’ve always seen those in every match when I did play.

I chainfire 5 SNUBs on my MAD-6S. If you get the timing right then the heat is controllable.
It's also great for Light eradication.
