As the title suggests, can anyone think of some good mechwarrior movies (or anime)? I know there's Robot Jox (80's mech-like movie) and Robotek (anime), is there anything else out there that I should check?

Thanks!

It's baffled me a bit, considering the huge, loyal following to MechWarrior, why are provided bad cartoons, no movie, 10 years since the last mechwarrior game, etc? I just can't understand how the game industry has avoided MechWarrior for so long. Sure, there were a few games in-between (Chromehounds, Mech Assault, etc)..but still.

There was an anime back in the day called Gasaraki. Although the mech action in it is somewhat limited.

Mech-themed anime... i would recommend Macross Zero(and Frontier maybe), also various Gundam series( its hard to recommend specific one because everyone has different favourite, but if you want best quality check out newest one - Gundam Unicorn)

well back a few years ago i recall someone was working on a mechwarrior movie, which then was taken over by a different studio and then no word on any work on it since. I think when Tops liquidated wizkids along with the mechwarrior clicks game, interest in producing a movie halted I have no links or proof though. Just speculation

Great old movie, but depending where you living at its kinda hard to get.

As you mentioned Robo-Jox, you know there is a Robo-Jox 2 and 3 as well? (okok, they are way worse than part 1, but at least its Mech-Movie right?)

well the battlemech cartoon need clearly a redesign,

1. take out these 3d thing

2. use the modern models

3. improve animation A LOT, some movement are just to fast nearly spasn, while others are just to slow

4. the scenejumping is horrible

You would have to watch Crusher Joe and Dougram and find stuff from Victor Musical Industries to see all the unseen.

For some "Hard Sci-fi" mecha action there is Moble Suit Gundom: The 08th MS Team, Patlabor, Robotech and Macross Plus, and Exosquad. For some "Soft Sci-fi" and somtimes sillier mecha action there is Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Gunbuster 1 & 2, and Neon Genesis Evangelion. 08th MS Team is probably the best out of the list if you are looking for realistic mecha combat.
