How could you know? When was the last time when you were T1 or T2 in the post-PSR/Tiers-reset MWO, so you could actually compare the chatter as it changes when moving from Tier 5 up to Tier 1?

And by the way, the fact that somebody has risen to Tier 1 or Tier 2 does not have to necessarily mean that he is "epeen hardcore robot" who is "too busy botting to speak". I have seen "normal happy folks" even in Tiers 1 & 2.

The event is garbage too. Full drop, good fights and then the timer comes in -.- No one is joining the game to cap boring stuff.

Remove timers, match credits and add salvaging. You get what you kill, mechs, weapons...

i could use my mic and waste time tripping over my own words, or i can shoot the enemy. i can do the latter better than the former.

when i still played fp, you would sometimes get a drop caller who could coordinate better than shoot, and their scores showed it (they often get peanuts). yet they still were the deciding factor in the game forging a pile of skittles into a decisive fighting machine. just as often the skittles would ignore them and get slaughtered. willingness to function as a team is necessary to coordinate, and that's what a lot of players really lack. in other games the players have enough skill where calls are few and far between and everyone is in very little need of them.

people are going to bring the best skills that they have. be it the ability to coordinate or the ability to shoot well or have good positioning or manage heat like a boss. it might not be your preferred skill or what you think best results in victory.

I have met IRL 90% of my unit members... Some of them almost every Yearly even after they have quit the game Years ago.

But you have not seen tier 3 since reset if I have understood it correctly? How do you know what happens tiers higher than that?
And people playing with FRIENDS usually use Discord or something like that so they can talk each others between matches also.
