Hey folks, have a quick question for anyone.

Recently came back to MWO after quite a few 'years' of not playing. Noticed something on the 'friends list' UI in the game, and also in the 'player list' in matches.

So, in the Friends list we have the following:
FAC, Pilot Name, Team, Last Online, Msg, Fav

Faction Pilot name Last online, Fav are all self-explanatory.

But what is "team" ?... My faction shows Clan Wolf (as it should ), but for "Team" its showing Jade Falcon........ which makes me feel dirty Just what is that and how do i change it? Can i change it?

As for your question on "what is a Team" currently showing Jade Falcon...

Once you've started playing Faction Play, you "Team" will automatically show the Clan or IS side, depending on what you've last picked. So if you've chosen the Clan side previously (probably years ago), and right now as of this writing it's Jade Falcon, then your "Team" will show Jade Falcon. All this despite your Pledging Loyalty to Clan Wolf.

And when FP changes to Ghost Bear vs House Steiner as an example, then your "Team" changes to Ghost Bear".

Yeah, it’s a lower population thing. Faction play is just Clan vs IS now, one random house or clan each. It pains me as well to see that I might be fighting for House Liao despite all my Davion shoulder bling.

Does this mean if i go back into Faction Wars i wont earn points towards the Wolf Rank? or will the points i earn still go where i 'want' it to go, even if im essentially 'mercing out to' another clan?

Just before you Pledge Loyalty to Clan Wolf, there's an explanation:

Quote

Loyalists pledged to Clan Wolf will receive 120% of earned Wolf Loyalty Points when fighting for Clan Wolf,
and 100% of earned Wolf Loyalty Points when fighting for Clan Nova Cat, Clan Steel Viper, or Clan Diamond Shark.

==>I'm assuming that in this same base scenario you also get 100% of earned Wolf Loyalty Points when fighting for Clan Smoke Jaguar, Clan Jade Falcon, and Clan Smoke Bear...
