As a default, I personally treat all mechs' LT/RT weapons as:
"the
lower the weapon is in the Mechlab stack, the higher it will fire on the mech".
There are (lots of) exceptions to this rule, to the point that variants within same mech chassis may behave differently.
ie: you've just got to experiment and test this out, as below.
1) Mechlab / Camo_Spec view:
Arrange your mech layout in Mechlab.
Goto [Camo_Spec] to view your weapon placement on your mech.
Note that you do not have to press [Save] to spend money!
2) Testing Grounds:
Once you've obtained your desired weapons placement, go to Testing Grounds to test your Weapon Grouping.
Consider to add a dedicated hill humping weapon grouping hotkey for firing only the higher-up weapons.
================
Example: Bushwacker BSW-X1
A) Before: Just 2x RAC5, one each in LT/RT. MG in RT. RT: RAC5 on
top, MG on
bottom.
Note that
both RAC5 is about cockpit level. Goto [Camo_Spec] to view your weapon placement on your mech.

B ) After: rearrange MG
on top of your RAC5 in Mechlab,
forcing your RT's RAC5 to be on the very top of the mech, for hill humping! Also go to [Testing_Grounds] for fine tuning your Weapon Grouping for hill humping as needed.

(Goto [Camo_Spec] to view your new weapon placement on your mech!)

Thanks, but just to be clear...the higher the weapon is in the stack the higher it will fire on the mech?
