Also I do know they dont affect missiles (LRMs) but what about the ATMs? In their data one ca read "projectile speed" just like one finds it at ballistic weapons...

yeah, TC's don't affect any missile weapons in any way. Also, MGs - albeit being ballistic - are also not affected. Their projectile speed is only cosmetic, since they are hit-scan weapons. No lead required.

JGX DATA in one of his videos mentioned that all types of machine guns (MG) are hit-scan, does damage over time, and does not require one to lead the target (unlike ballistic weapons). In fact, the MG 'bullets' you see ingame are purely cosmetic; there are no MG 'bullets' per se.

My own personal take is that MG acts more like laser or flamers.

Targeting computer speeds up targeting data, hence your enemy's paper doll pops up faster.
Targeting computer does not help MG's crit hit chance either (since MG already has its increased crit hit chance, just like LB-X autocanons).

I liked the way how Targeting Computers worked in MechWarrior 3.

That just added a leading reticle based on the target's speed and direction, right? I think with network latency and all that, it would be difficult to work properly in a game like MWO. Player controlled mechs move in a much more chaotic way to AI controlled mechs in MW3 as well.
