Hard pass on the account of no melee in MWO :( It's still a nice model though.

Hard pass on this one.
The preorder bonus of 600 GSP is quite lacking, rather uninspired.

But I'm sure it'll sell well enough.

Unless this has really good quirks I don't see much of a reason to use it unless it's your favorite.

We knew this. The announcement of the Hatchetman puts an excellent model into the game, but with no melee, its just another 45 ton mech. If they give small scale quirks like they did with the Crusader, I won't be pre-ordering it. Sorry.

It's overloaded with hardpoints and jump capable. At 45-tons, it gives competition to the Shadow Cat and the Vulcan. Need to see the quirks.

I want this one too, but a completely new 'Mech for which they haven't built the model? The common refrain, resources.

So you're adding an iconic melee mech, and acknowledge that you have absolutely no intention of adding melee combat to the game? Lazy development like this is why I haven't invested a dime in this game since 2019. Let it burn.

Although the Hatchetman is a hard pass for me, this could open the potential of adding other "melee" mechs into MWO like the Axman, No Dachi, Berserker, etc. It could even open up an opportunity for modders to port them into MW5.

PGI added the Hatchetman because they already created the model of it for MW5:Mercs and they wanted to make some additional cash on it, selling it to the MWO players.

But I think it would be a bit foolish to create other melee 'Mech that would be running around with Hatchets and Swords and never using them. Especially since there are so many classical non-melee 'Mechs that could be added without having the aforementioned problem.

Slow melee medium with no melee. Going to need alllllll of the quirks.

I'll still probably buy one of the faster variants mid next year. On a pointless quest to buy one of each chassis at the moment.
