Just a quick Thank You to the MW team for making this whole thing happen and for keeping this genre going.

Yes, thank you MWO, and especially a BIG thank you to the MWO mech artwork department, they've always done a great job fleshing out the mechs, making it come alive ingame!
(Almost thought it's Christmas already, with these well wishes going on!)

I always thought MWO is the most generous free to play game.
Yea we complain sometimes, but that's cause we love it.
I'm very happy this game exists. Its the only thing I play still
...and its all free!

Porting this game over to ue5 would most likely be easier than trying to make it from scratch. The mech models are already more than good enough and much of the environment and effects could be reused as the new lighting and materials ue5 brings can certainly spruce up older textures and the base textures for this game are actually quite detailed if you force them with a custom user script to override the decade old lodding values. But yeah pipe dream at this point unless they *gasp* leverage the fan base for mw5 and battletech with some nice cross promotions to drive up the population. Mw5 would be easiest of course as its a first person shooter.

I played War Thunder before getting into mwo and that game is completely awful as far as f2p goes. Predatory grind, ridiculously expensive premiums, horrible balancing, the works.
Though I will say Dota 2 is probably the most generous f2p game, seeing as you can play every character and don't have to grind a thing unless you want skins.

World of tanks is pretty generous as a f2p game. The rng in that game is atrocious though. I still like to play it as they have their own fleas and locusts in the form of light tanks and the wheelies which play much like they do here as hit n run specialists and are generally hated by the players in general.
