I'd love to see a thunderbolt legendary mech, with lightning patterns and gold/blue around it.

I would love for us to be able to pick to be able to buy a "Hero" upgrade for any of our mechs that would give that mech the Hero C-Bill bonus and let us customize the quirks on the mech (obviously there would have to be limits on the quirks). Also give us the ability to give that mech a name that is displayed in-game.
Something I have never understood in MWO is that you can give your mech a nickname, but that nickname doesn't show up anywhere during a drop/match ?!

As far as I can tell there is zero difference between high/low any tier. I'm most of the way back through tier 4 and regularly pull matches full of t5 skill level players. Those matches just aren't fun for me, or I'm sure for them when I put up 1k+ damage and pull 4 solo kills in a brawling medium mech.
How can you be sure which Tier each player had when the game doesn't show it anywhere ?!
Also the whole PSR and Tier thing is useless : I am stuck in Tier 3 and Tier 4 because 95% of the teams I am in are total DERPS so the game be like "No higher PSR for you! Your TEAM lost!"

The possibility of being a new game is the only thing that interests me.
I wish it was open world
we wouldn't have to wait
Looking at GTA V Online and how horrible the Public Sessions are compared to Invite/Friend/Crew Sessions I would say that could be both a bad and great idea at the same time...

Wait, these "legend" 'mechs are built by the Cauldron?! Hell no!!! Firstly, you've seen how the Champion mechs that were built around the meta of the time have aged over the years. Secondly, this game has been faithful to the record sheets and the lore over the years, and this is no time to break with that tradition. I have very little faith or trust in this "Cauldron" to be true to the spirit of MechWarrior, as they have demonstrated repeatedly since they took control.
IMHO the only thing the Cauldron did was converted MWO into Camping Sniper Warrior and by that I mean even more than it already was!
For example : It's a total P.I.T.A. to play a SRM mech at the moment!
STOP RUINING OUR GAME !!!

One important thing no one talks bout. The whole News are worth ## if they dont manage to bring fresh blood to MWO aka new Players.
Who ever made the Academy.: Sit in a Mech of your choice go in the Academy, then head after to the Active Combat Zone and tell us that you wouldnt be annoyed as hell, after you died in a Lurm spam with hearing the 10th incomming missile warning in 5seconds.
Dont forget you are a brand new Player. You have no Idea bout the Weapon systems/equipment and what exactly it does. no one tells you that you have to shoot down the UAV to avoid LRM´s
.To expect that every in MWO interested new Person has to watch hours of YT Vids before coming here is just #####
Whatever announcments you make they are worth nothing wothout bringing MORE NEW PLAYERS to MWO if you want to have a better mm or making money
HEAR HEAR !!!
New Players + Educate the current players so they actually know how to play !!!
Current issues :
- Spread out team that gets stomped!
- Not enough Spotting!
- Scanning : What's that ?!
- Scan what you are shooting!
- Crappy Loadouts... CRAPPY LOADOUTS EVERYWHERE!!!
- Pop an UAV or use Artillery when needed!
- And MANY MORE!!!
Horrible! Just plain HORRIBLE!!!

Nobody would play light mechs because they'd be destroyed by a single gauss hit.
If it only was like that!
The closest I ever get to that is shoot one leg away and cause a huge W-T-F ?!?! for the Light Mech's Pilot

I'm excited to finally have a new clan mech, clan snub PPCs, clan MRMs, clan heavy gauss, etc. It's about time!
Another suggestion: give us the option to save a loadout & skill tree together. This would make it much more convenient instead of having to switch both of them separately each time.
Listen to this guy ^^^^^^ @ P.G.I. !!!
Clan having some type or MRM and Light PPC would be a dream!
MechB Kotare, on 14 January 2023 - 12:36 PM, said:
Hate to break your dreams, but neither of these exist in battletech universe as far as i know, so there is little to no chance any of these will make it in game.
Make some silly trading story about it like someone mentioned earlier and it's solved!
This is MWO and not TT and we all want a better game in the end!
C337Skymaster, on 14 January 2023 - 12:37 PM, said:
Otherwise, yeah, I agree with the entire sentiment that the whole idea of chokepoint attack is overall bad strategy, and whoever planned the op should be demoted at least, and shot at worst. Any competent commander would have found a different way to attack the ground facility without sending equal numbers through a choke point. (Conventional wisdom in the books is that you need a 3:1 numbers advantage to even consider attacking a fortified ground emplacement, and here we are going through a choke point at 1:1).
That's because we have ZERO jets or tanks/artillery options we could use for such tactics!
A buddy of mine loved flying around in Battlefield 2 so if we had jets in MWO then there is a pretty good chance he would play this game too!
Quote
The other thing that I would want to see, which makes more strategic sense, and changes up the gameplay quite a bit, is instead of an aerodyne dropship hovering over the drop zone (don't think aerodynes could ever hover), you have a spheroid drop ship (probably a Union, since we've got 12-man teams) that grounds at the drop zone, and provides a permanent defensive structure (and a potential target for shortening up foregone conclusions) to minimize spawn camping. Any and all respawns happen inside the Union, hits to the union's engines count for 1.5x damage, the Union can shoot back with the full arsenal typically associated with them (AC/20's, LRM's, lasers, ppcs, etc), and if a spawn-camping team can destroy the Union Dropship, they get a massive bonus and automatic win, without making the clearly outmatched team waste time playing through three more waves.
So called "
BaseX
rX
aX
pX
e" is indeed a huge issue in many spawn based FPS games and your suggestion would be a very good solution!

Siege gamemode is what defines FP. I dont really want to play FP just so i can play QP mode with respawns.
And earn XP I can't use the way I want across my 4 mechs !!!
Quote
I'd much rather have the siege mode redesigned, so it suits you, me and wider chunk of commmunity. I'd much rather have even larger maps, base in a middle, with 360degree (lower) wall around it, caliope turrets in each corner, turret generators, smaller orbital gun batteries destructible from more angles, turrets actually around them, so attackers cant just bumrush it... Something that gives attackers more variety to approach situation, while forcing defenders into more active defense. Not just positioning behind gate and waiting for attackers to start swarming after the gate is open.
Less camping = Better game experience for all of us!

This is what I want to see as a new mech:
No IS mech again, please. We had three in a row.
I see only 3 weapons ?!
As long as the current playerbase doesn't understand the concept of "Support your Assaults" that is going to be a horrible experience IMHO
I do like the mech tho!

Remember the tire fire
* that MC-bought consumables kicked off? I'll happily pay for 'mech packs that are interesting (I still do not regret the Overlord package, even though the Battlemaster remains a disappointment.) Players need to be able to compete, and if they see the best 'mechs gated behind a paywall, it
will hurt their willingness to drop against those 'mechs. And speaking for myself, and my feel of the community in general, existing MWO players don't want that either. Already, there's been some power creep in a few chassis: a common optimized Dire Wolf build requires the Ultraviolet's omnipods, the Pakhet has been called out for enabling significantly more powerful Huntsman builds, and the Crael is just obnoxious right now. Let us compete, and we'll pay you to have fun; if players feel like they're paying to have fun, though...
*:
Otherwise - neat! I like the direction that things are going, and I'm more than willing to keep playing while you do them. =]
What you are describing from back then is basically the reason that we have a very low player count right now :
- The game had a huge steep learning curve!
- Many new players were and still are like :
"OK, so what do I do now ?!"
- Untill this day there is still no predictable way to see where which weapon will end up being mounted!
That's just one big horrible experience for new players!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure as soon as MS gets involved, MWLL will get curbstomped. For that matter, that's the rumor of what happened to the original MWLL dev team back in 2012: PGI sent them a Cease-and-Desist letter that simultaneously gagged them, and they were forced to abandon ship with no explanation. (Naturally the lack of official explanation leaves this as a conspiracy theory, but one that fits the facts as we know them).
My recollection is that PGI took a popularity hit by one or two points over that, based mostly on the rumor/conspiracy theory, even though I suspect any direct action taken would have been in the interests of shutting down the competition so that they'd be the only game in town and everybody would come to them.
Typical Microsoft crap I guess...
Rockstar did something similar stupid a while ago : Lawsuit crap instead of hiring the developers behind the project!
Quote
That said, that same popularity poll will raise its same ugly head if MWO tries to brand itself too similarly to MWLL. There's still a lot of sentiment that MWLL did the gameplay aspects much better than MWO (and they did), they just lost out to artwork, lore-accurate builds, customization, and being officially kicked to the curb so that MWO would be the only game in town for awhile.
That's just sad!
