So I picture this working maybe 1 of 3 to 4 ways.
  • A module weighing varying tons outputting increasing speeds(and heat?) the heavier it gets (just like the TC). Probably peaking at 10%
  • A consumable that gives a temporary boost to speed and heat lasting maybe as long as a UAV. Also peaking at 10%
  • A skill node tree that offers percentage boosts with 5 nodes that can increase speed up to 10%.
  • Chassis Quirks.
Every mech could benefit from a boost to speed at some crucial moment.

Assaults would especially benefit.

Are there any speed Quirks on any mechs?

Having it as a Chassis Quirk option could also be nice.

Some 'mechs have MASC capability which when activated gives them a "turbo boost" to their top speed, however if you leave it on too long it will destroy your legs.

Thanks, I wondered what MASC was.

But that's good! That means that the code is already written for a feature like this for use on non-MASC mechs!

I personally favor it as being made into a consummable so it wouldn't be abused.

I'm ok with leg damage occuring as well as heat being generated during its use.

Seems a good trade off to get your heavy or assault into a more favorable position, or out of a bad position!
