When I hit play in the portal, it does not bring up a window or anything. It just runs in the backround and I have to bring up task manager to kill the process for mwo. I tried the whole black screen fix to see if that still fixes the issue and it has not helped and I tried the steam version and it does the same.

Check you AV settings if MWO was blacklisted somewhere maybe.
Also have you verified your game data, maybe somethings got corrupted?

added it to AV exceptions already and i have verified a couple times, neither fixed it. I did a fresh install and got it working again, but this is the second time it broke, so I am afraid it will happen again.

the game worked for a couple days and now it is doing the same thing again. Did not change anything, but it wont launch a window now and runs in the background. I would have to do a clean install again...

after 3 installs, deleting odd files, verifying things, checking firewalls updateing what i could find. I t turn out to be the geoforce experience was the one that needed the update. peace out
