Literally all I want is a Blood Asp that can run 2 ERPPC and 2 Gauss like my MAD 4L. The BAS is my favorite mech but I barely use it now after finding the 4L is better for headshots and general PPFD fun.

Since you can do this already, im assuming you mean without ghost heat.

I think its unlikely we will ever get a clan mech with the required ERPPC HSL+2 quirk, and IF a legend blood Asp got that, im 100% sure it would be a set of 8 quirk on a chassis without ECM and with hardpoints that force you to put either the Gauss or the PPCs in the arms, which would ruin it. (Blasps are my favourite Assault mech too, but only with ECM and high mounts)

Tbh IS are way better than clans for PPFLD at the moment. So many more options, what with AC10s and 20s being single shell, multiple different PPC options and Light Gauss not being GH grouped with PPCs. If you havent, try PPFLD builds on Corsairs.

And again people are losing 'emselves in mechbuild-discussions instead of facepalming about the fact, that they more or less randomly digged up another obvious cash cow, PGI did not have the imagination to dig out emselves to finance and foster that beloved game of ours.

Just imagine the involvement-potential via some sort of playerbase-driven mech-variant competition, including community- and caster-feedback picking out the best / most promising / unique / balanced proposals in multiple stages and resulting in a final pick that gets implemented into the game like once or twice a year with the winning contributor getting some prices plus the ability to name the variant. Oh boy ... all these bucks floating down the river.

I kinda came here to say something similar.

Maybe PGI could auction off the rights to design at least one Legendary mech in each weight class? Maybe 2 or 3 in each weight class?

Pretty sure the costs to freely design some legendary mech(s) ain't auctionable for a reasonable price (reasonable in terms of open to and therefore forwarding the majority of the community - otherwise sick P2W), so one can't simply auction off the rights to design one or more legendaries. Making this a community-wide contest / competition with streamers/casters involved, would likely guarantee some kind of failsafe against braindead powercreep and "crowning" the winning contributor publicly (with dedicated feedback why that variant has been picked) would be another surplus to keep the community motivated / linked to the game IMHO. But nothing but a rough drawing now, since we don't know about potential copyright issues (intellectual property and yadda yadda) that may make such ideas much more complicated in the end.

I certainly didn't mean to imply that the auction wouldn't have rules in place to prevent the creation of a P2W monster. Posted Image

I do like your idea better about community involvment.

I would pay money on a variant of this.

CRB-54
This Crab variant uses a composite internal structure and a 350-rated XXL fusion engine to reach speeds of 110 km/h. A supercharger allows it to sprint at 140 km/h, which is good for leaving the field when its armor is breached. Main firepower comes from a pair of plasma rifles supported by an ER medium laser and an ER small laser.

Obviously that weaponry and engine doesn't exist but i'd love something along those lines, as the Crab Mech is my favorite mech.

There are ****** 3 people working on this 10 YEAR old game. Im here to pay to keep the lights on. BT/MW is too niche to expect anything other than MW6 right now and unless that hits it out of the park I don't expect much.

Your suggestion on a community vote/contest seems like a great way to go though!

Community contests would probably bet the best route for new mechs. Still would just like to tag my own regular variant.

I'd say a combination of using the spreadsheet to allow users to create new mechs they can then submit in a contest for pgi for review.

$5 a mech just to add a (LGD) or whatever tag to the name to indicate its a player's chosen hero/legend and a 30% c-bill bonus would be far less work on their part. Even if you had to re-skill it as a "new" mech because they had to make duplicate mech files for the hero-ized option.

Heck they could use the battlepass alongside it to acquire the tag after accruing x amount of xp in the mech again. Would actually be a meaningful battlepass for players and let them keep playing the mechs they like to play anyhow. Could make it a longer term thing and just keep building on those player hero passes to give players a reason to go back and forth.

-- I run 4 different Hunch-4SPs that I'd actually throw them $20 for making into my own hero. Maybe even one or two of the clan ones, and a few other mechs if they offered it as a pack that I could apply to mechs I wanted.

Sadly we are roundabout 5 years late for that to be incorporated in adequate ways.

Furthermore pretty sure, that the current legendary approach will lose some momentum over the next couple of months. Once you start pumping out new (and disputatious) variants on a 4 week basis, even our content starved community gets saturated to some extent. Does not mean, it won't pay off for PGI still ... but without other content additions / mode-overhauls, we will just get to the same place we've been before.
