Does Doing "team Damage" Negatively Affect The Matchscore By An Equal Amount Of "damage To The Enemy?"

What I do know is that it cost you the same amount for 1 team damage that you earn for 1 damage to the enemy: 20 cbills.
Based on this observation, we can assume it's the same for the match score, but don't quote me on that.

Just wondering.
Essentially, one point of "Team Damage" lowers your Match Score by one point.
For example, 20 points of the Team damage means that your Match Score goes down from 140 points to 120 points.

each point of TD is a negative 1.275 pts of matchscore

I like that its weighted heavier.
There should be a stiffer penalty then that, maybe 1.5 points. But I suppose they're trying to account for "accidental" friendly fire.

much of you match score has to do with staying with your 4 man group you dropped with, and then what that 4 man group does ---- i run solo and do a little RUN WITH THE 4, if it works i run with it, ---
if not turn in a monster ---- always run 2 weapon system ---- i like lazer vomit 2 large and 4 med on a clan mech and yes i do shoot well : )

I had something like 70 team damage in a match last week because my teammates were not paying attention and running into my line of fire - and that was with my holding fire at a lot of points in the match. In my experience most team damage is accidental; I hear horror stories about people attacking their teammates at spawn, etc, but I personally haven't seen that since the Steam release, and then only infrequently.
So I think the penalty is fine where it's at - after all, nobody who's deliberately pecking or killing teammates really cares about their match score, and when a teammate rushes into my (announced) artillery strike, it's not something I can control.

You can, though. =D The game isn't really designed to be played with a joystick; people do it for a sense of nostalgia, but it hurts the team. Still, it's pretty rare - more often, the problem is that they're playing on an older machine and their hardware is dropping frame rate. Modern PCs won't have that problem, but the game engine isn't well-optimized, so older computers have had issues in the past.
I started this game with a friend of mine, and while he could shoot at people who were far away, he was absolutely embarrassing in a brawl. Spectating him was like watching a drunken rhinoceros try to swat flies - eventually I realized that he had "saved" money by buying a computer with its "graphics card" integrated into the motherboard and running off of his general-purpose RAM...

I would have found what you said normal in the past, but playing games on an old computer in today's age seems absurd and primitive. If you don't have a computer that can run such an old game, don't bother opening it. Even phones in today's world are incredibly fast. The phone I use in my pocket is better than the computer you mentioned. It's funny to me, Like a dying prey
I may not live in a technologically advanced country, but I have a good computer with processors and graphics cards produced by many technology giants. I find it absurd that people in countries where such technologies are produced are playing games on slow computers.

The phone may not be as much superior as you think, though you do have a point (phone CPUs are heat-limited, since you can't fit and power a cooling fan in a phone case.) Still, even when MWO was new, people would try to play the game with computers that were below the minimum requirements. It's still possible that you're seeing people use a computer that can barely run Windows - but I also know for a fact that people try to play this shooter with a joystick.
You're right that it's silly - heck, it was silly back then, too! But consider this: the cost of a decent headset with a microphone is trivial compared to the cost of any computer that can run the game. Yet how many people in your matches actually seem to have a microphone?

When I opted in as a founder my computer was a single core processor!

The recommendations were a quad processor that I was weeks away from getting.
If you've ever seen Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan ..I want you to picture the battle between the Reliant and the Enterprise when they went into the nebula_picture their viewscreens...now cut the visuals in half...now half again!

I still got a kill...one kill...in like 30 games.
I'm super proud of that kill!

1. the teammate will run ahead of you in a faster mech, then stop. Once you go around them, they will repeat this... over and over again.
2. the teammate will stand immediately behind you, when you are corner peeking. Getting you killed by the red team when you are unable to return to cover. I watched a guy do this to three separate people on a team before we all team killed him. Guy wasn't even shooting at the red team, just running around messing with the blue mechs.
