Sorry, couldn't resist, we used to get these types of threads all the time back in the day (2017) of new mech pack releases.

I didn't get the the QuickDraw legendary but will pic it up on my next paycheck. But the Howl I'm fun with it's a little weird build a non Omni Timberwolf, but otherwise I went through a lot of ATM builds and decided to settle on a pop tart build with 4x ATM 12's, if the engine could be dropped to a smaller one I may have settled a combo of ATM's and uac's.

Today I smashed both in a few matches. None seems interesting considering how easily those shattered by my ATMs. Howl's not even need lock to kill! It seems dakka is the favoured way to them but most pilots stare to much (try to aim?). For Desperada I saw only LGauss+L-PPC setups. That mech seems more solid than Howl...

None amused me so far (maybe they weak only in T5-4s hands, if group-drop sometimes may check how higher tiers handle these)...

i said they were usable, not s-tier or even a-tier by any means though.

of course i really didnt play them a whole lot, i had a lot of things to do this week.

Verdict on Desperada after first game:

I mostly like it. Low-slung arm ballistic will take getting used to. Need to be mindful of how far apart the PPC mounts sit, as well. Stock weaponry is pretty okay. I'm going to try 2 Gauss 2 LPPC, though. Think that should abide by the HSL without issues.

E: OK that... might not fit. Unless....

E2: yeah no that's way too heavy lmao

I like it better than the 4LL QKD-5K. Low bar to clear though. It's a bit toasty, at least unskilled. I really want to slam an XL300 in it. I also have no idea how the battlepass works lmao

I don't recommend Scattershot to anyone. It became ineffective after the latest update. I haven't gotten a single kill in the past 2 days. I've tried 15 different combinations, but unfortunately, it doesn't work.

First decent match:


I personally like it better with an XL300+3JJ+2DHS and an LGauss instead of Gauss. Stock weapons might be better once I get Cool Run/Heat Gen maxed so I can afford fewer DHS.

I'd give it more runs tonight but I'm hitting a local festival with my roomie.

I still don't know if there's some kind of... XP bar or whatever for the battlepass that shows progress. Or a redeem button, or whatever.

Hm, none of the buttons work. Not sure if it's because I got it via Steam?

If it didn't require some potentially bad sacrifices I would strongly consider running just Dual Gauss on it. That and still getting used to those arm mounts.

I like the Timberwolf's they seem varied where as quickdraws feels a bit generic, both feel damn tanky but otherwise a pleasure to shoot at
