MECHWARRIOR ONLINE LEGENDS
JULY 2023 PATCH NOTES

Patch Date and Time - July 25th 2023 @ 10AM – 1PM PDT
Version Number: v1.4.280.0
Size: 375MB
Please note that due to compression differences the Steam patch size may be larger than the standalone client patch size.

Greetings MechWarriors!

We have a MASSIVE patch this month that includes a brand new 'Mech Chassis the Stone Rhino, a brand new map called "Ceres Metal Scrapyard," two new Legendary 'Mechs "Stone Crusher" and "Gausszilla" the Annihilator twins, Weapon Adjustments, 'Mech Adjustments, Quirk Adjustments and MORE! See details below.

MWO COMP CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES 2023: Comp Queue is opening for teams to be created, but matches will not start until the August patch. Stay tuned for the launch of this year's Tournament Supporter Pack and a CS 2023 announcement with all of the details coming in August!

Updates are subject to further balance changes in the future, so get out there and do the science, and get us your feedback for future iterations.

And now, we really hope you enjoy the patch!
-The MechWarrior Online Team

KNOWN ISSUES
  • Desperada warhorn plays no audio - fixed for August
  • Ceres Metal Scrapyard: AMD users have a chance of launching into this map with hyper color visuals (much pink) - fixed for August
  • Stone Rhino decals don't align correctly when you place them on your 'Mech

NEW 'MECH: STONE RHINO
We are very excited for the arrival of the unstoppable Stone Rhino! This 'Mech is the single-most requested Clan 'Mech by the community, and embodies raw power and intimidation. A formidable 100-ton Clan war machine, the Stone Rhino boasts an abundance of impenetrable armor, and a weapons loadout that will make your enemies tremble in fear. Prepare to stomp your way onto the battlefield and unleash devastation upon your foes. Secure your order today, and become a force to be reckoned with in MechWarrior Online!

NEW MAP: CERES METAL SCRAPYARD
"Ceres Metal Scrapyard" is a bit larger than Canyon Network, and will be available in Quick Play and Event Queue modes. Speaking of Event Queue, watch out for a special event coming Wednesday July 26 called "Garbage Day" featuring the new map and everyone's favorite trashcan 'Mech!

PLEASE NOTE: REDEEM BATTLEPASS REWARDS ON THE WEBSITE STORE PAGE (UPDATED EVERY HOUR)

ANNIHILATOR "STONE CRUSHER" BATTLEPASS REDEEM LINK: https://mwomercs.com/legends/stone-crusher
ANNIHILATOR "GAUSSZILLA" BATTLEPASS REDEEM LINK: https://mwomercs.com/legends/gausszilla

The two new Legendary 'Mechs this month include the twin Annihilator assault 'Mechs "Stone Crusher" and "Gausszilla" (see images below). Each 'Mech will sell for $15 USD on the website, and will also be available on Steam. Each Legendary 'Mech is a new variant of an existing chassis, has a custom paint job, an "outlier" quirk, and a 30% C-Bill boost. Also included with each pack is the new mini battle pass system driven by 'Mech XP. Just by playing the 'Mech, you will earn GSP, C-Bills, MC, Premium Time, and exclusive Cockpit Items, Decals, Colors, and Bolt-Ons! However, unlike a typical battle pass system, there will be no expiration date to earn these extra items. Take as long as you need!

Patch Files (Direct Download)

To make the patching process easier for players with limited download caps, we'll be providing direct download links for the patch file(s) that comprise this patch. This will allow you to download the patch file(s) elsewhere, for manual injection into the MWO patcher through a Patch Cache folder.

Aside from allowing you to download the patch file(s) elsewhere, on another connection, there are no additional benefits to performing the patch this way; the patching process itself will be the same.

This direct patch download process will only work for players running the standalone client. It does not apply to players running MWO through Steam.

Patch File(s): - http://patcher.mwomercs.com/patch/Production/frontend/FrontendPatch_420.zip

  • Download the above file(s)
  • For sake of ease, we recommend creating a dedicated folder for the patch file(s), such as 'MWO Patch Cache'
  • You do not need to unzip or unpack the patch file(s)
  • Launch the MWO Portal
  • Select the three horizontal lines in the top left of the Portal Window
  • Choose the 'Specify Patch File Cache' option
  • In the field that appears, paste or enter the location in which you saved the patch file(s) and hit OK
  • For example, C:\Users\<username>\Documents\MWO Patch Cache
  • Click the blue Patch button
  • The launcher will now check the Patch Cache folder you defined. If it locates the required patch files, it will unpack and use those files to apply the patch
  • Once the patch is complete, launch the game

New map looks really cool in the legend preview images but looks very dark in the other ones.

Range quirks and range skill nodes now affect the 90m range bracket as well.

that mean
the minimum range for ppc is 81 when have the 10% range increase skill? or it will be 99?

Was I the only one expecting new weapons in this update? The new mechs and maps are alright (the new tweaks to stats stink) bit just sayinh

What? Clan tech on the Gausszilla? So that counts as a Clan mech? That's definitely new!

Glad to see the power creep keeps going up. Maybe that's why player numbers are falling. Just a thought.

I feel VERY catfished by the Stone Rhino's more round CT in the concept art... Daniel VS the Cooler Daniel.... Still getting it but it went from a 10 to a 7 at best...

GAUSSZILLA??? Clan weapons on an Annihilator??? Who told you I just got paid???

The aesthetic of the new map looks interesting. Can we get some tweaks to night vision to make it more useful? This would be a great map to look at how to make night vision more useful.

Hey.

Wait.

RACs now have jam chance reduction?

So like, you max out the jam bar and you start rolling for a jam, and this loads those dice a bit.

I mean, it might make RACs a touch better. Spinup's probably still the biggest failing point.

Gausszilla is nuts. Good god. That's kind of... cheeky. Stone Crusher's straight up bonkers as lasvom, but Gausszilla is something else. :|

Are you saying the Clan tech Annie is the power creep? If so, while I’m excited for it, I disagree. It’s got 5B 1E hardpoints, it’s not going to be earthshatteringly OP.

I'm more interested in the overall clan tech. That means a 5 ballistic XL safe Annihilator. 4AC10 +ERPPC, 3 uac5 +2uac10 +ERPPC ... They're going to be a bit less niche than 5 gauss, especially if you have to fire the gauss as 2+2+1 still.
