Anyone have an opinion on this LRM80-Artemis / MPLx5 / AMS / Active Probe / 350XL build is better with TAG and 1 fewer MPL?

AThE5:`1|<f|l^|l^|l^|l^p@1|9C|oB|WR|WR|ECq@1|9C|oB|WR|WR|0S|l<2r41|9C|oB|WR|WRs41|9C|oB|WR|WRtD1|WR|WRuD1|WR|WRvB0|DCw<04040

vs

AThE5:`1|<f|l^|l^|l^|l^p@1|9C|oB|WR|WR|ECq@1|9C|oB|WR|WR|0S|l<2r41|9C|oB|WR|WRs41|9C|oB|WR|WRtD1|WR|WRuD1|WR|WRvB0|oBw<04040

I'm under-utilizing weight in both builds.

Also does this weapon grouping make sense (not sure I properly understand how everything works):

1 MPL
1 MPL
   45 bottom LRM
   45 bottom LRM
1 MPL
1 MPL
  3 5 top LRM
  3 5 top LRM
12345 TAG

Grimjack Haxor's SR builds are as follows:

LRM build SR-K: Artemis-LRM80 + TAG + 4xMPL + AMS + Clan Active Probe:
https://mwo.nav-alph...b=528e568b_SR-K

LRM build SR-K: Artemis-LRM80 + 5xMPL + AMS + Clan Active Probe:

My 2c would be to add 2 ER Large lasers and a TAG over 3 of the MPL. You can still use them as a backup when something gets close but they also wont be useless when youre LRMing from outside of the MPL's range.

AThE5:`1|<f|l^|l^|l^|l^p@1|9C|WR|WR|EC|mBq@1|9C|WR|WR|0S|l<2|mBr41|9C|WR|WR|oBs41|9C|WR|WR|oBti0|WR|WRui0|WR|WRvB0|DCw<04040

Razgriz's LRM build for SR-K:

LRM build SR-K: Artemis-LRM80 + TAG + 2xERLL + 2xMPL + AMS + Clan Active Probe:
https://mwo.nav-alph...b=3643573a_SR-K

Guys, this is how you get the MechDB 2.0 URL link for your mech build:

1. Get your Mech build code from MWO game client (like you've already did):
eg: AThE5:`1|<f|l^|l^|l^|l^p@1|9C|oB|WR|WR|ECq@1|9C|oB|WR|WR|0S|l<2r41|9C|oB|WR|WRs41|9C|oB|WR|WRtD1|WR|WRuD1|WR|WRvB0|oBw<04040

2. Goto Mechlab of MechDB 2.0
https://mwo.nav-alpha.com/mechlab

3. Copy and paste your above (1) code, press [Import]
~Your MWO mech build should show up in MechLab 2.0 now

4. Press [Share] on top, then click on [MechLab_URL]
~Your MechLab_URL would be in your Copy/Paste computer memory (just click [Paste] in your MWO Forum to share). Voila!

Sorry my complaints...

But I am mw pilot from mw2, mw3, mw4. And I am shocked. I dont really know, how new guys should fight against such thing.
LRM it or long range. Or shoot back by light. Its all need training and experience.

Well, we ll see. Just PGI overdid again.

Your concern is completely fair and valid though, some of the builds you can make are wild. For the most part crazy fast TTKs aren't super realistic outside of ideal situations though. Between short optimal range, moving targets, firing from a moving platform, and the ever prevalent hit registration it isn't often you're going to get all that damage directly on target. Between all of those specific mechs I have a whopping 1.3 KD. This game thankfully has the majority of weight fall on the pilot, not the mech. A strong mech can be a strong tool in the right hands, but like any other tool if the user doesn't use it just right, it isn't going to work.

Highlight the Dang Text of your build name and hit the link button on the editing toolbar (it looks like 3 chain links with a + sign below, if you squint.) Don't just dump the hash into your post. =)

Additionally, that Koloss build up there inexplicably ignores two SRM hardpoints in the CT. I suggest This Build for a slightly lower alpha in exchange for better range, better mobility, and more maximum dps. >:]

There is a pattern for games like this and WoWs and others (Star Citizen e.g.) that sell ships to seemingly intentionally release things too powerful, get a bunch of sales, then nerf them. I don't think that is fair to customers. It's the hard points that in particular should not be changed. Change the quirks if anything.

Oh I know, its just that in the history of MWO this is by far the worst yet. I mean Clans were probably worse (on release they were better in every aspect), but we had a large player base back then so we could risk doing stuff like that.

Eh, every time there's a new 'mech that overperforms, people drag out their tinfoil hats and cry about imagined malfeasance. None of those people bat an eye when a new 'mech sucks, though. If the Stone Rhino continues to overperform once everyone adjusts to it, they'll nerf it. It's ok. Same if it had been an underperformer and needed a buff.

Ironically it is actually almost as small as if not smaller than most light mechs... It is comically small and will take an absurd amount of practice and skill to ever hit.

These Stone Rhino builds do LOOK crazy powerful. But, at least at Tier 3 play right now, Stone Rhino's are being mercilessly deleted by agile lights and mediums, especially if the smaller mechs move in pairs or groups. So we need to give things time to sort out before any serious talk of nerfs should be thrown around. And I don't own the Stone Rhino, so I'm not really trying to shelter them from nerfs, but I am definitely not seeing them as overpowered in actual play, so far.

I'm seriously mystified by people's propensity to ditch MASC on the Koloss. Downgrading to LB-10X and adding a couple of cERMLs will give you less alpha, but more sustainability (3.3 AtO instead of 2.3) and flexibility in engagement range. If stare time concerns you, swap things around a little for a brace of cMPLs for still slightly better sustain and even more damage than the LB-20X.

Edit: If you're dead set on using an LB-40X build, I'd Do This instead.

The problem is:
1) This monster alfa not so hot, you can shoot again and again.
2) Its overshooting Daishi, its unforgivable
3) It killing easily Atlas front to front, unforgivable too.

I played some games without balance, every time it should be next new thing, more and more strong. And old things are history.
Dont like such.

I just spent days obliterating Stone Rhinos and Gauzillas with a Corsair AC20, SNPPC, MRM build, (*every Atlas can use the same build type), then found out it works even better in a Fafnir Wrath (more armor, more speed, better heat management) and with ECM. Then discovered I could fill the extra missile slots (Corsair and Wrath) with LRM5s and it works even better. 3 or 4 LRM5s tend to seek the CT on big mechs (or legs on lights) and get kills readily. I enjoy the LRM5 stack for closing distance and when they are behind cover, too many open areas to cross with a slow close range mech, need something to keep their head down a little while closing.

I've used high alpha builds for a long time, this is nothing new and frankly the performance of the Stone Rhino is underwhelming.

As for Guazzilla, I've ran a Kodiak 4xGauss plenty of times before and it's gives equivalent if not better performance (due to higher mount location) It's a fearsome build if you happen to get a match where everything lines up.

You could do alot of the same builds on the Dire if it was not Omni with craptons of locked equipment.

SR being a battlemech fully customizable, all that clantech makes for a crazy amount of firepower on a 100 tonner with cockpit level or higher hardpoints (mostly).

Powerful, but not without its own flaws.
I'm sure by the time its for sale for MC or maybe even earlier, it will get the nerf bat.

I've seen people use the SR-6 as a medium pulse boat, doing stagger firing, kinda like the Nova.
As it has the +1 medium HSL. Not sure if that applies to heavy mediums though.
