perception of sniper weapons is (somehow) still warped here.

If your baseline is the 2ish years of lowreybalance we lived under, then your baseline is no snipers, or close to no snipers. Lowrey nerfed damage so low even slow assault mechs could close the gap and brawl. This was not normal, it should not have been that way, and demanding snipers get nerfed so you dont have to learn how to play against them is not a valid or effective strategy against them.

The cauldron isnt actually that partial to snipers, they've just un-nerfed many of PGI's more draconian sniper nerfs (most of which were the result of paul inouye not wanting to listen to grown adult men whine to him like babies). This process has been going on for the better part of 2 years but people still seem to want to believe the proper number of snipers in a match should be zero, and they seem perfectly happy to take anyone daring to play a sniper as some kind of personal insult.

The dark secret here though, is snipers are as feast or famine to play as brawlers are. If you have trouble brawling, its 80% because of your positioning, and 20% because of your team's positioning. Assaults, even with now buffed agility, are still assaults. They were always slow, don't fool yourselves. This is as true for brawlers as it is for snipers. Either you're in the right spot to brawl, or snipe, or you aren't, and if you aren't you're going to die. Midrange is king, not sniping.
