I've never once been accused of seal clubbing by anyone as I run up the tiers. Even with monster games. No complaints no bitching no crying. They Just Don't Care. The only ones who seem to care are those in tier 1 who try to impose their e-morals on others for perceived injustices. As I said make and alt and give it a whirl. The only one who will judge you is you.

I am just not sure where you get the idea of "They just don't care." from . If anything, its simply made out of thin air .

First hand experience? I typically have a few dozen friends requests on any particular run up. Does that sound like butthurt seals crying over getting clubbed. Again I have not once ever had anyone complain in chat that I was clubbing them nor any tks if they ended up on my team. Players get farmed all the time in the low tiers just like high. Is the tier 5 player who got 1000 damage and 6 kills clubbing? That happens all the time. He would get farmed himself if he was magically transported to teir 1 but he isn't in tier 1 he is in tier 5. There are tier 4 and 5 players who never rise above it that have ace of spades. No One Cares.

Because the seals don't know they are being clubbed. You are doing exactly what seal clubbing is repeatedly.

Yeah it's ironic I'm judging you in my thread- but I did it once, apologised to people a number of times, and got into tier 3 and the main matchmaking pool very quickly. You doing it repeatedly just to roflstomp new people because they don't know they're getting clubbed is part of the "new player experience" that gets talked about in reviews for MWO, and part of why we aren't getting new players

So if the seals don't know they are being clubbed because they get clubbed by their own tier too then what is the issue? I'm only in the low tiers for a relative handful of games until I'm booted to tier 3. Again it seems that the only ones getting offended are those already in tier 1. If you feel actual ~shame~ for turboing out of the low tiers on a new alt then maybe thats a you thing? Posted Image

As to why we don't get droves of new players its due to this being a niche game only a handful of people enjoy playing and the lack of marketing to drive up awareness. It's not a game you just pick up and play since the mechlab is an entirely different animal than most of these types of games which focus on simplicity to appease the greatest number of potential players. All their efforts are being put into mw5 since that is their cash cow now. Also if you look at new player retention its roughly at the same curve its always been. We just don't get many new players interested.

HAHAHA new player experience? If there have been 50 real new players join MWO in 2023 I would be surprised and more than likely 40 of them have already left the game. Every time I play, I talk to players in games all the time and they get pounded into dust by the farmers and try Hards seal clubbing so I realized long ago no one in the office cares about this issue or it would have been fixed long ago to retain more new players and keep the ones they had.

I'm trying out a new Mech game on steam and its awesome it's called PHANTOM GALAXIES it's a combination of BattleTech and Gundam so far it is very fun, and I hope the Devs learn from MWO's mistakes and don't repeat them.

This is almost no statistical indication there are any meaningful amount of smurfs in the low tiers. The psr system more or less boots them into tier 3 asap and they get removed. I'm in tier 3 only after a couple of days of play. You just can't make a perma low tier farming alt. The game won't let you if you are actually any good at the game to begin with and so be considered a clubber in the first place.

Totally not true I see Smurfs in tier 5-4 all the time you can tell their alts and higher tiers right from the start in the way they play in battles. plus look at me I have this Caracter and have been able to keep it in tier 5-4 for 8 years now or PGI thinks it's a joke trashing my account so I cannot advance to higher tiers?

I am 53, my reflexes have gone down ( they're still ok'ish since I had above avg reflexes when I was younger ). I am sitting crosslegged on my Couch, balancing my crappy 5$ 2Button mouse on an armrest, balancing my crappy, some keys already giving out 5$ membrane keyboard on my knees when playing MW:O . In addition, my potato PC runs the Game somewhere between 24 and 40, 41 FPS, depending on Map . I have edited my config a tiny littly bit to help with performance, but its nowhere near optimized to the point some comp people do . I am not using 3d party SW to get better contrast, and I am not using macros .

Yet last season, I maintained positive W/L and K/D playing over 700 QPMatches, 41% of which were Light, and the majority of them Solo QP . The Light I used was a nonmeta no ECM no JJs no Stealth 260mtrs range LCT with 22something Alpha .

But since I did not rack up much damage and subesquently not high MS and subsequently am placed around 50% on Jarls for last season, I am being regarded as a "bad player" who has no understanding of the Game, and whose opinion and views dont matter cos "bad" .

An thats part of why I find a lot of the discussion, arguments and viewpoints about "skill vs noskill" and how higly ranked players ( on Jarls ) points are more valid than lower ranked players absolutely ridiculous .

Lights can farm damage quite well and consistently, so your jarls rank is justified. If it really bothers you that your rank is that low, maybe upgrade your gaming PC/set up or play better.

What you are seeing are most likely tier 3 players having a good match or if pop is low enough the floodgates open and every tier gets mixed up together. But more likely its just a tier 3 having a good match.

Just like Crazytimes said, they don't know they are being seal clubbed.

When you make your next seal clubbing account try starting each game with message something like this to general chat:
"Hi I'm tier 1 player Meep Meep, I like to have easy games so I make alt account and seal club your guys GLHF."

I'd guess someone your opponents would care, prove me wrong.

No. T5 players can have those 1k games but it does not happen to same T5 player very often or if it does, that players goes up in tiers and is not T5 anymore and matches get harder and frequency of those 1k games drops drastically.

You (because you are way better and experienced at this game than them) can do it constantly at T5 and sure you get out of there also but by making new accounts again and again you are doing what is pure definition of seal clubbing.

And again I made alt account back in 2022 because player who we shall not name did claims after claims in here forums that T5 games are same skill as T1, I called it BS with many others and just to prove a point played few games with alt account. I limited myself to trial lights and bought Urbie when I got enough CB for it, I never got enough CB/XP to fully skill it.

But if they don't know they are being clubbed then how can they get discouraged by being clubbed?

Your going to have to explain this phenomenon a bit better.

I have fully admitted that I make new alts to make runs to t1. Those alts rarely ever stay in the low tiers for more than a handful of games and spend at least 90% of the playtime in tier 3 and higher. So while it technically fits the 'urban dictionary' definition they really don't know what hit them due to the much much higher player pop of the low tiers I rarely ever see the same players twice. This is in stark contrast to tier 1 where you can get the same set of players over and over and over each fight just a bit mixed up on which side they are on.

Indeed there are not many t5 players who are going to have back to back monster games just like in any tier. But there is almost always ~some~ player having one each match if not several.

Also only rank 47 off the first few games? C'mon man I hit rank 43 off 13 matches in an unskilled shadowcat..

https://leaderboard....=Shadowcat+Lord

The funny part is that all of you admit you rarely if ever make alts yet you make sweeping statements like you do and have experience doing it and know the people who play at that level.

Well lol.. Posted Image

Well he's also handicapping himself by only playing trial mechs so there's no change of loadout or skills added. Which, to be fair, isn't slowing him down much in the lower tiers but it'll be interesting to see how it plays out when he starts pulling other top players.

Besides, it's TTB. Who doesn't love that amazing bearded German?

Some of the things the Series shows

T'Mechs are very much serviceable ;
the performance he is able to more or less consistently pump out in T'Mechs can not be expected by people not as experienced ;
TTB playing T'Mechs on a fresh alt account != "the new player experience" ;

I like the Series . And I am also very interested to see how its going to go once he starts facing t2, 1 consistently.
