So, I've got an idea for a future cosplay at PAX next year. Does anyone know what Victor Davion's ceremonial officer's outfit looks like? Like, full body. Not just a bust or headshot.

What era? He served in various armed forces.

Use following items:

• dark green service coat
  
• dark green trousers
  
• gold (general) or silver (officer) wide cuffs
  
• red trouser stripe and red epaulettes (for MechWarriors such as VSD)
  
• Fedsuns patch on the right shoulder
  
• dark green peaked cap with the davion patch in front
  
• Some medals, if you wish. Ignore that useless artist who painted that linked picture - that US fanboy flt the need to put US medals on various characters from the 31st Century. Use "actual" Davion medals from the BattleTech books.

All in all, it should be quite easy.

Sounds like it. The design in the wiki's image reminded me of a German ceremonial officer's uniform in green. If anything, I'd have to look up the medal designs, but for the most part, that does sound fairly easy. What books or images can I look for that would give details about the medal designs?

The OP was discussing the Davion officer uniform, not e-girl cosplay.

So, I'm still looking through this and am nearly ready to pull the trigger to commission this on Etsy, however I still need to figure out what I'm going to do with the rank and insignias as well as what awards he had at the time of his start of the Clan Invasion. I was debating on doing it following Operation BULLDOG, when Victor helped lead the frontal assault to fell Smoke Jaguar to the reformed SLDF, but I feel like that might be a good idea to do that later on, really, starting off with him being just getting out of NAMA and the Nagelring. Would anyone have any ideas on what rank Victor would have been straight out of the academy?

UPDATE:
At the time of when the factions started merging, he was enlisted as a Kommandant in the Lyran Commonwealth-side of the two factions, a very Germanic-themed faction as the rank implies. That was at 3042. Where I'm reading is around 3060-ish in terms of the novels I'm reading. Given the ranking, do you guys think he'd have gone up in rank given that he became the Archon-Prince of the AFFC? Or should he have some sort of proper military rank on his uniform?

I doubt that anybody is going to check for details. Give him a Field Marshal's uniform and call it a day.

mechwarrior 2nd edition rpg book has illustrations of the combat and dress uniforms for a bunch of the factions
