My go-to Piranha is the A btw, 6 SPL + 9 EuL, going down to just 1 E-uL is gonna hurt the close-range poke so much, which is just 32.4 alpha. I can see it doing maybe ERML, HML, ERLL, or HLL, but the beauty of the first build is that it's very fast due to low-commitment and pretty incognito.

The other Piranha I liked is the one with 4 SPL and 10 EuL, with the 4 SPL on the arm makes it easier to run and poke.

With PIR-D, I can see the longer-range longer commitment working, but it wouldn't be as effective as a 51.6-pt alpha under 0.6s

I’m confused, does the the A only have a few energy hard points? Also what are E-uL? Just returned to the game after 6 years

The6thMessenger confuses the PIR-A (which only has 3 energy hardpoints) with the PIR-2. E-uL is the incorrect abbreviation for Extended Range Micro Lasers (ERµL)

Correct, the PIR-A only has 3 energy hardpoints (most often used for heavy mediums).
"EuL" means nothing, but I think they meant ERµL, ER micro lasers.

what does that all stand for why not just call them ERMi?

µ is the usual prefix for "micro" as in "micrometer". It is used to distinguish the abbreviations for ER Medium Lasers and ER Microlasers.

I don’t know what that means but it sounds accurate anyway xD

Thank you both for clarifying that. I’d spent a few minutes searching for that term in relation to mwo and battle tech and the wrong piranha variant was only compounding my confusion. A lots changed in 6 or so years.

On that note, the legendary reward Jager has arm actuators removed to fit those heavy gauss right? Does that mean the poor guy can’t move his arms at all anymore?

Indeed.
Arm mounted weapons will move just as if they were mounted on the torso.

So why isn't there a laser point on the head for the warthog?

At least according to the design published in the Record Sheets, Widowmaker can be built in-game as-is, using the -W CT, any RT that has a ballistic hardpoint, any HD that has an energy slot, and any arms that have two energy hardpoints. Mine uses the -W RT and the -A and -B arms for their improved quirks.

I'm all in favor of Prometheus or Hohiro, though, as they add new hardpoints that don't as yet exist. Whichever one adds the missile to the right torso would enable creation of the -X variant for memery, as well. Posted Image

You can make a fair version of the X using the UV and some other pods. Weapons might not be in the right spots but it is as close as I can make it.

Each of the (L) variants comes with a 30% CBill bonus.

Is it intentional that the UM-R doesn't have the +5% heat dissipation and -25% damage from overheat that the rest of the Urbies have? It does have the most energy hardpoints of any IS light mech so I understand if it was a balancing measure but I like it when chassis have common quirks like that. I don't think someone has already brought this up but I only did a search of the posts and didn't read most of them so I may have missed it.

The poor fridge ferret also appears to have 2 machine guns but 0 ammo for them so it’s possible the UM quirk question is an oversight l suppose.

that faction has colder weapons that don't require much in the way of heat quirks.

Not all the equipment are listed in the post, like ammo. If you try to recreate the Ferret as described, there are 0.5 tons available.

Don't think the Urbie quirk is an oversight, it will probably launch that way. But future balance pass is always an option.

That Jenner is a meme mech designed to annoy both teams... And how exactly is that Fridge suppose to work with no Ammo?

Yup. But even a sharp gust of wind will blow a leg off. That's literally how the 'mech is designed: impossible to hit, but if you DO hit, you'll cause critical damage with the slightest of weapons. Lasers will be its downfall in MWO, as a quick burst of MASC might even enable it to outrun streaks, and it would certainly be able to outrun LRMs.

Run & tested the Pirahna Decarion, pretty pathetic if you ask me, low armour buff, with no bonus quirks on lasers, on top of that restriced with lower engine rating compared to other piranha.

What's the point of this mech? An Inner Sphere Flea has ECM & MASC together, and have higher armour n easily out beat the pirahna.

I felt this mech is just a joke compared to other loyal mech , as they have more to offer.
