Black Screen Lock Up, Auto Reboot

AMD 3600
nVidia 3600ti (Zotac)
The last week or so I had a few instances while playing where it looked like the game was lagging out, and then black screen and insta-system reboot. Now it happens within the first few minutes of dropping and is unplayable.
I did a fresh install of the game and video drivers, and turned XMP off. Made no difference.
Windows Event Viewer shows nothing that would alert me, but I am no expert interpreting that information. The only critical I can see is Kernel-Power even 41 which just states the system shut down and may be due to the system crashing etc. I saw no critical in the Application area.

psu specs required.
they say dont cheap out on the psu. you usually get what you pay for, but there is plenty of overpriced garbage on the psu market.

I took out the #2 RAM stick and it played fine.
Stuck back in the #2 RAM stick and my rig wouldn't post, just a black screen (or would post but no video).
SIDE BAR: I had a bad AMD early release 3600 that AMD replaced, and I researched that some people said they had the same thing happen -- post but no video. I know it was the CPU because I used a known good 3600 and it posted and booted right up. So, it could be another bad CPU getting ready, but what are the odds?
So I reseated #2 and it booted right up and played an hour without any problems.
So at this point I'm not going to do anything until it starts again.

Not sure what the BSOD settings are like in Windows 11, but look for a setting to display BSOD on the net since it is still a thing but Microsoft just wants to hide that stuff since Win 7. Then when you BSOD, you can write down the address error and try to troubleshoot it from that.
The vast majority of BSODs are either driver issues or platter HDD failure. Failing RAM (GPU/MB RAM) is less common and GPU failures usually come with graphical issues before they fail outright.

You mean run MWO in full screen? I've always ran it in Full Windowed mode so I can tab out. I've never had a problem, but I'll try it the other way.

I have it ready to go already,. I ran Prime 95 with RAM stress test and no problems. How do I see the Windows crash logs? I've been to event viewer, but there isn't anything that indicates a critical problem, just the normal errors. Is there a specific area I need to look when using Event Viewer?

No, he meant that you might already be running in full screen where there is such a bug.

Not sure since I don't run Windows 11, but a search turns up this which looks like a convoluted process: https://windowsrepor...bsod-dump-file/

Anyway, I haven't crashed since.
To the other poster on resolution, I run it at my monitor's native rez, which is 2560 x 1440. I have to go into the mwo.exe file, choose properties and tick off both of the High DPI compatibility settings:
Properties.compatibility>Change high DPI Settings> then check both of the check boxes.
That makes the text clear in the main areas before you drop. Otherwise it can look pretty nasty. I really wish they would implement scaling for that area becasue at 2560 my eyes bleed. It's not a problem after you drop. It's just in the mech lab etc. text is just too small.
