Did they make this map 8vs8 only or somethign or did a bunch of people just drop from the game???

if people dropped from the game it would have show names and disconnects. It looks like you got an 8v8 match.

All original maps were 8v8s. Then pgi decided do chase more and made it 12v12. They were warned long ago more mechs ment more alphas lower ttk and eventually less and less population. They don't even test any more. I don't remember the last time they used an event on the public test server. The fact they had the "new" scrap yard in the live game as "early access" tells a lot about the state of game. Early access to me just means unfinished and probily full of problems.

I don't mean to be an ******* but yes i know it was originally 8vs8 if you'd look at my account you'd see i've been around for a looong time. I'm just trying to figure out why all of a sudden i was in an 8vs 8 match.

i think you can still do custom games even though the feature is kind of hidden and not intuitive to use. many players don't even seem to know it exists. there is also the eq which sometimes runs 8v8.

Might want to keep it that way, or rather I would prefer to tone down from 12v12 to 8v8s permanently

This means drops would be faster because of less people needed to make a match. As well as less death-bally because of less mechs in general.

This was a conquest match. Felt really short, around 5 minutes, which is pretty good for a low tier match. We were in the Ceres scrap yard. For 8 vs 8 the maps should definitely be smaller. The 3-mech group did not win the match.

Changing to 8v8 in QP should seriously be considered. It might help the match maker make better matches, especially during low pop times. Or run it for a full patch cycle that way and gather data.
